WebQuest Definition
A WebQuest is a lesson where most of the information the students work
with comes from the Internet. By using the web, it enhances the lesson. For the
activity, the information they use comes from the Internet. However, the students
focus on using the information and resources they are given instead of spending
their time looking for it. A WebQuest can be made through programs, such as
word processing. The lesson is found on the Internet by the teacher. This is a
great way to create a lesson instead of using a book. The lesson must follow
state standards. A WebQuest should include an introduction to help the students
understand what they are needing to do. It should also include a list of resources
for the students to use, step by step instructions, and a conclusion.
Today, technology is very important in education. It opens up more
opportunities for the students and increases their knowledge. By having a
WebQuest lesson, I believe it is a creative way for students to learn about the
topic and to work hands on with technology. A WebQuest also opens up many
opportunities for teachers. WebQuests are created for teachers, by teachers.
Therefore, teachers can access any of them no matter what school and they can
find ideas to create their own. Incorporating technology into lessons is a really
great thing for students and for teachers.
