Next Week… In Language Arts we will show a clear sense between text and pictures, write left to right, top to bottom, retell what happened 1st, 2nd, and last in a story, and create pictures and text or pictures with distinctive personal style and originality. In Math, we will finding & describing flat triangles, squares, rectangles, hexagons, and circles using informal language without naming, explaining decisions about classifications of triangles into categories using variants and non examples, and explain decisions about classifications of rectangles into categories using variants and no examples.
Reading Book Next week’s reading book from the Harcourt Reading series is called, “I Have, You Have.”
Sight Word Our sight words for this week are you & have. Letter of the Week Vowel /Aa/ will be introduced next week.
Show & Tell I will give SHOW & TELL another week. If there is not enough participation by the end of the week, it will be canceled. Our theme next week will be THE SKELETAL SYSTEM. Please help your child find something that is related to this theme or that begins with the letter /Aa/.
Cromer News…Parent/Teacher Conferences I have attached the schedule for Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you haven’t signed up yet, please see the available times and commit to a day/time. My conferences will be held on October 10th & 11th. Thank you. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Autumn Hike @ Veit Springs The rescheduled field trip to Veit Springs (SF Peaks) for an Autumn hike will take place on Tuesday, October 4th @ 9:00-2:00. All parents are welcome to come. The bus may be full so if you are willing to drive behind the bus, let me know.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Fall Holiday There will be no school on October 13 & 14 for FUSD’s Fall Holiday Break.

Family Pumpkin Activity Yesterday, I sent a Fall Holiday activity for you to complete and return as soon as it is finished so that I can put it up on our bulletin board in the hallway. Instructions were attached to the orange paper. Have fun and be creative!!
Mortimer Farms/Pumpkin Patch We will be going on a field trip to the Mortimer Farm Pumpkin Patch in Dewey, AZ on Thursday, October 20, 2016 for the entire school day. We are asking for $8.00 from each family to pay for ½ of this field trip. If you would like to chaperone, your cost is $8.00 also. Permission slips were sent home with the newsletter on Monday. If you need a new one let me know. Thank you!
