Base Junctions
Base junctions completethe structure of panel pack-ages and panel buildups.Answer panels always sharea junction with adjacent pan-els. You order the style ofjunction you need separately.cSpecifying, pages 312–316
Junction cap is includedwith junction when needed.
Opening in top of junctionallows lay-in cable routingbeneath top caps.
Slots in junction accept thepanel’s horizontal bars, cable trays and powerkits.
Slotted channels injunction accommodate work-surface supports and over-head storage components at1" increments.
Trim is included with L, T,V, and end-of-run junctionsto finish exposed surfaces.Trim is standard with paintand available with fabricwrapped or wood veneeroptions.
Leveling glides adjust toinstall panels on unevenfloors. Range is 2".
Aligners ensure correct fitwith adjacent panel top caps.
Product Details
End-of-run base junc-tion includes junction, verti-cal trim, and junction cap.End-of-run trim adds 1" tofootprint.
In-line base junction includes junction and plastic top cap aligner.
L-base junction includes junction, vertical trim, junc-tion cap, and plastic top capaligner.
T-base junction includes junction, vertical trim, junc-tion cap, and two plastic topcap aligners.
X-base junction includes junction, junction cap, andthree plastic top cap aligners.
V-base junction includes junction, vertical trim, junc-tion cap, and plastic top capaligner.

*Note: Wall start junctions are not available 2913⁄16"H.
Y-base junction includes junction, junction cap, andtwo plastic top cap aligners.
Wall start junction secures to the stud in a structural wall or drywall fasteners can be used. Vertical trim is not needed. Also used in off-moduleapplications. Wall start junction does not add anydimension to panel run.
An in-line top capaligner is included with in-line junctions.
Top cap aligners areincluded with L, T, V, X, and Y junctions.cPages 313 and 315
Connections
Quick lock on both endsof the panel’s horizontalconnecting bars engage thejunction in a tight structuralconnection.
Base junctions canaccept a stacking junction of the same type only. Example: An L-base junc-tion will accept an L-stack-ing junction.
Skins extend onto junctionand meet skin of adjacentpanel. The slotted channelof the junction is accessiblebetween these two skins.
Panels can support work-surfaces, shelves, and bins.
Wiring and Cabling
Horizontal routingthrough junctions is accom-modated by openings formodular harnesses andcables. Openings at top ofjunction accept lay-in cablerouting.
Lay-in junction cablesleeves can be added in the field to cover theexposed metal edges in lay-in cable space.
Modular harnessesthat are 43" or 80" are avail-able to change the height atwhich you are routing powerkits or to route power fromthe panel base to differentheights.
Modular harness is usedto route power through an L, T, V, X, or Y junction.Only the large opening inthe junction at worksurfaceheight allows enough spaceto accommodate the bend inthe harness. Modular har-ness is not needed to routepower at worksurfaceheight.
Large opening at work-surface height in 42"H,54"H, 66"H, and 78"H junc-tions must be used to routepower through an L, T, V, X, or Y base junction. Amodular harness is requiredif power is routed at anylocation other than worksur-face height.
...............................................................................................................................................
Skins attach to junctionwith concealed hardware.
30"H junction does not have a large opening. Amodular harness must be used to route power in a30"H L, T, V, X, or Y junc-tion. Only the base of thejunction allows enoughspace to accommodate thebend in the harness.

Product DetailsStudent tables havechevron shape tables, teamshape tables, and rectangleshape tables.
The chevron shapetables provide a sense ofpersonal space division aswell as creating a subtle arcwhen in lecture mode toallow line of sight to every-one in the row.
The team shape tablesare designed specifically forsmall group work and projectteams, offering the sameangled shape as thechevron tables but on bothsides of the table.
On 84"W chevron andteam tables, there is aslight modification to theshape to allow three peopleto sit at the table instead oftwo. Rather than having twofacets on the angled side ofthe table, 84" tables havethree facets.
The rectangle shapetables can be used formore traditional applicationsas well as when smallertable sizes are necessarybecause the rectangle tablesare available in 39" and 48"widths as well as the largersizes.
39" width is the smallest atable can be while still beingADA compliant. ADA regula-tions require a minimum of36" between the inside ofthe table legs.
Worksurfaces are wood-core with High-PressureLaminate top and plastic 3mm edge band. All cornershave a 2" radius.
39"W
36"
Center docks are optionaland used to provide a storage area for markers, erasers, and other items stu-dents may bring as well asproviding a dock for support-ing test mode.
84"W tables are designedto have three students andwill have two center docks (ifcenter docks are specified).
Center docks are notavailable on tables smallerthan 60" because they aredesigned primarily for testmode and tables smallerthan 60" do not accommo-date two students.cSee Dock StorageAvailability, page 13.
Side docks allow displayof whiteboards on the tables. For best results, rock theboards into place rather thanpressing straight down. Sidehooks allow storage of up tofour boards per hook.
Two leg designs areavailable on student tables, the access leg and the pinheight-adjustable post leg.All Verb tables come stan-dard with the access leg withnon-locking casters. Accesslegs are also available as anoption with four locking cast-ers, four glides, or two non-locking casters and twoglides. Pin height-adjustablepost legs are available withfour non-locking casters, four locking casters, fourglides, or two non-lockingcasters and two glides.Tables that are either 19"Dor 39"W will not allow anyvariety of caster when usingthe height-adjustable postlegs due to stability testrequirements.cSee Table Top and LegChoices, page 12.
Table height on accesslegs is 281⁄2". On height-adjustable post legs, themidpoint is 281⁄2" and thelegs adjust 41⁄2" up and 41⁄2"down for a total range of24"–33". Tip: Tables with height-adjustable legs set belowstandard table height, willnot allow the personal white-boards to be hung on theplastic side hooks as theywill not have sufficient clear-ance. The boards may stillbe used with the side dockssince table height does notaffect board display.
Modesty panels areavailable for chevron andrectangle tables and aremade of painted steel.Tip: When ordering tableswith a modesty panel, it isnot necessary to orderoptional reinforcing channelas the modesty panel actsas a reinforcing channel.
Reinforcing channel isnot required on tablessmaller than 60"W. Ontables 60"–72"W a reinforc-ing channel is strongly rec-ommended for medium toheavy duty applications tominimize deflection overtime. 84"W tables comestandard with a reinforcingchannel.
Glides are available andare used for leveling forinstallation on uneven floors. The glide is 11⁄2" long andprovides 1" of leveling.
