BRING THEM TO JUSTICE

Here are 52 of those most directly responsible for the "pre-emptive" destruction of Iraq, her citizens, and her cultural heritage. Many are in government, and removing these people from power would go a long way towards making the world a safer place. Others are corporate CEOs; in those cases, the corporations themselves must be dissolved or otherwise rendered incapable of further harm. See www.iraqtribunal.org for more information.

DESTROYED IN IRAQ

Human lives The 1991 Gulf War and subsequent sanctions led to the deaths of

between 200,000 and a million children under five, depending on source. Poisoning from depleted uranium weapons—banned by the Geneva Convention—probably led to many thousands more. In the 2003 war, the U.S. again used depleted uranium weapons. Iraqi death counts have not been published. Culture Because of a U.S. policy giving carte blanche to looters—also in violation of the Geneva Convention—the Middle East’s leading museum lost most of its ancient collection, and two libraries full of irreplaceable manuscripts were destroyed. (Only the Oil Ministry was protected.) Long-term prospects The U.S. is now considered the main world criminal by the vast majority of the world’s citizens. When the people on these cards are one day brought to justice, “supporting our troops” will be no excuse for the rest of us. Sources: www.iraqtribunal.org.
