New Children’s Programmes
Our Amazing Cosmos
Blind Date with a Book
Adaptive Technology
First Friday of each month, 10am - 12pm.
Do you or someone you know struggle
to read print or see your computer
screen, mobile phone or tablet?
Ever wondered how technology could
help you with these tasks?
Come along to the Adaptive
Technology Hot Seat where
Genevieve McLachlan can answer
your questions. This is a great
opportunity to ask about assistive
technology in a safe environment.
If you struggle to read newspapers
and other small text, the Library also
has a desktop electronic magnifier
which can be used to magnify print.
Just put your reading material on the
tray and adjust the magnification to
suit your needs. The image will be
magnified on the screen. Genevieve
from Adaptive Technology is more
than happy to show you how to use it
during her Hot Seat session.
For more Hot Seat information, go to
page 7.

Thea Stilton and the Secret of the Old Castle
This is the story of five mice who
look for three stones. The stone
that squeaks, the stone that cries,
and the stone that fishes.
The mice are called Nicky,
Colette, Pamela, Paulina and
Violet. There is this mean mouse
called Angus with his two sons
called Liam and Connor.
Paulina - one of the five mice is
my favourite character. I didn’t
like it when the mice got locked
up in a cellar, but I loved it when
the mice found the will.
