From the DRE
Dear UUFBR, Happy Summer!!!!
I hope this finds you all in good spirits as we dive into summer mode. I'm grateful for all that each person does to uplift and serve our UUFBR community. We began the month of June with the last official church year service of the year ~ flower communion. Following service, a good number of UUFBR Families and Friends met at Strikes to celebrate the beginning of summer, laugh a lot, and share fellowship. It was wonderful. Summer for RE involves drawing upon the talent of our community, the support of our teen/young adult part time employees (Kiera Rogers and Hannah Mansour) and of course, I will be there to lead the RE class when I am in town. We have smaller classes in the summer and sometimes combine the RE and nursery classes as we did last Sunday for Father’s Day when the two groups merged to do some art work for their fathers (or men who have been like/fathers to them). As I look forward to the fall, I am excited to implement an idea that Harris offered up wherein each month we focus as a community on one of our UU principles and then I build upon that principle in RE and in my Not for Children Only talks on Sunday. I’m excited for this! I’ll end this letter with an open invitation to any UUFBR member/friend to join us in RE and also to volunteer this summer in RE should she or he feel inspired to do so. I am grateful for your support, leadership, and positive energy. I warmly welcome you to join us in RE at any point/time. Peace,Amy

What is a Chalice Circle? A Chalice Circle is a small group of UUFBR members and friends who meet monthly for a period of one year to grow spiritually and to connect into deeper community. Each month the meeting is centered around a particular theme with a reading and an opportunity to share personal reflections and experiences related to that theme.
What are the benefits of joining a Chalice Circle? • Have meaningful conversations about your personal growth and development• Connect more closely with other members of the UUFBR community• Deepen your own UU spiritual path• Become a better listener What is the commitment required? • Everyone in the Chalice Circle commits to attend all 10 meetings over the course of the
year.• Each Chalice Circle needs a host and a facilitator.• Facilitators will be trained by the professional ministers of UUFBR. How do I find out more? Please email or call Louis Merlin, [email protected], 404-374-7532 or visit https://www.uua.org/small-group

Please join Healing Justice for our annual summer service on Sunday, July 28 at 10:30am in the UUFBR Sanctuary.
TitleWorking to End Racial Discrimination and Injustice: Stories to Tell.
Intentions • To join with other members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton
and the larger Unitarian Universalist community (Unitarian Universalist Association, UU Justice Florida and other Florida congregations) in the quest for racial justice.
• To extend joy from the concert, Deeper than the Skin, presented by Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway at UUFBR this spring by doing as they suggested. We will tell stories that have brought us into the present moment while moving us toward a more racially just future.
• To preview how we plan to continue to co-create a more racially just future. As we move into the fall season, we invite you to join us as we create opportunities to do racial justice work. Watch the Unicorn and UUFBR Announcements to learn when and where we will gather.
