Rewriting Melodies using a KeySignature.

Study the Flashcards. SimplifyDuple, Triple and Quadruple Timeby always adding the “Scoop”below the measure. Each“Scoop” is a visual aidrepresenting one beat. Itidentifies the note/rest or group ofnotes/rests that equal one beat.

Tips for rewriting a melody:Always write in the sameorder. Determine the key.Write the clef, KeySignature and TimeSignature. Line up the barlines directly under themelody to be transposed.Point to the original melodywith one hand whiletransposing with the other.This ensures each intervalis transposed accurately.
