1. CRASH ATTENUATOR SHALL COMPLY WITH NCHRP 350 (NATIONAL

COOPERATIVE HIGHWAY RESEARCH PROGRAMME) TEST LEVEL 3

FOR ROADS WITH SPEED LIMIT MORE THAN 70KPH

2. CRASH ATTENUATOR SHALL BE NON-GATING AND REDIRECTIVE AND

HAVE PASSED ALL TESTS SET OUT IN THE NCHRP REPORT 350

3. EXISTING HAZARD SUCH AS LAMP POSTS, SIGN POST, CONCRETE

WALL SHALL BE RELOCATED BEHIND THE CRASH ATTENUATOR AND

PROTECTED BY VEHICULAR IMPACT GUARDRAILS

4. IF THE WIDTH OF THE CRASH ATTENUATOR IS SMALLER THAN THE

WIDTH OF THE GORE, A TRANSITION ZONE SHALL BE PROVIDED

TO PROTECT THE ENTIRE GORE WIDTH USING VEHICULAR IMPACT

GUARDRAILS AT A RATE OF 14:1 FOR A DESIGN OF 100KM/H,

10:1 FOR A DESIGN OF 70KM/H. THE CRASH ATTENUATOR SHALL NOT

OCCUPY MORE THAN HALF OF THE LENGTH OF THE EXISTING

CHEVRON MARKING

5. CRASH ATTENUATOR SHALL BE SAFELY INSTALLED ON SITE IN

ACCORDANCE TO ACCEPTABLE CODE OF PRACTICE.
