IAI General Education Core Curriculum Hours Inquiry Curriculum Requirements
Communications 9 Take ENG 101, 102 and SPE 101
Interdisciplinary Seminars 6 Must be completed at Benedictine University
Mathematics 3 It is strongly suggested that students going into majors requiring more
than core math complete at least one transferable math course prior to
transfer.
Humanities* 15 Five courses are required with at least one course in Religion/Theology
(QRT). The remaining courses are to be chosen from: Art (QCA), Music
(QCA), History (QHT), Literature (QLR), Philosophy (QPL), and Religion
(QRT).
Science* 9 Three courses are required: one Life Science (QLS), one Physical
Science (QPS), and one in Computer Science or upper level
Mathematics (QCM).
Social Science* 6 Two courses are required. Choose one from: Anthropology, Psychology
or Sociology (QIO). Choose one from: Political Science or Economics
(QPE).
* It is recommended that IAI General Education Core Courses (GECC) are selected to fulfill these areas. The GECC
requirements may vary depending on major selected. If you are following the IAI complete program for your AA/AS, you
need to see your Harper College advisor. Additional graduation requirements outside of the Inquiry Curriculum are
required.

Thirty of the final 45 hours must be completed at Benedictine University including at least 12 credit hours at the
