Tragedy StrikesBy Jasmine Warren

The tiny rooms of groceries and goods are busy with chatter and laughter, while outside is quiet and lonely you can almost see the tumbleweeds.

Whispers linger in the air as I stroll down the street - the faint clip clop of horses, the distant clunking of coach wheels on the rocky, dirt road.

The few locals wearing black and white are camouflaged together because they are at such a great distance. Little do the small families and I know, we will soon be on cool tumble wash.

The Victoria Bridge cracks, and both ends begin to cave. The Brisbane River water is brown, murky and.unknown. The water slightly splashes over the sides. No one including myself notices. A slight breeze distracts me from what I am seeing untilthe middle of the bridge breaks and falls into the depths of a mystery. I cant believe my eyes.

At the same time, the mud on the sides of the river becomes soft and breaks away, allowing the water to immediately flow over the banks and head towards Queen Street, a great distance to travel. It is readyready to destroy property and dreams.

Brisbanes 1893 flood will be forgotten by no one.

No one knows the rest. It is up to you to connect the dots and recount the rest. Good luck.
