Operation Christmas Child Thank you for your support of OCC! This
season we collected 159 boxes—a new church record and double what we collected just 4 years ago! A special thanks to those who
helped with the packing party. Please pray for the children to receive these shoeboxes as the
journey to Mexico and Niger.
Angel Tree The Angel Tree gives gifts to children of
prisoners who may not otherwise receive gifts. There are 10 children this year in need of gifts.
If you would like to help, please see Lee Powers (690-7908). There will also be a
Christmas Party for the children on December 3 at 1 PM. They are in need of some volunteers
to help. Birthday Corner!

There is a mothering room available through the double doors at the back of the church where you can listen to the sermon while caring for your small children. Children birth through 3 are welcome in nursery. Children’s church is available for children age 4-
kindergarden. Children will be dismissed between worship songs for Children’s Church.
If you have any questions, please let one of the elders or ushers know.
Changed to Proclaim; Living to Proclaim 1 Peter 2:9-12
Pastor Josh Robertson
We have been changed to proclaim the excellencies of God. Those who have believed in Christ have become.... 1.) A chosen _____________ (2:9). 2.) A royal __________________ (2:9). We have __________________ to God (2:9). We go to God on behalf of ________________. We go to other on behalf of ___________. 3.) A holy _______________ (2:9). 4.) A people ____________________ to God (2:9) For the purpose of…. _________________________ the excellencies of God (2:9-10).
We live to proclaim the excellencies of God by….
1.) Abstaining from the passions of the __________________ (2:11). 2.) Keeping our conduct ____________________ (2:12).
Faith@Home and Life Group Discussion Questions.
1.) Practically, what does it look like to be a royal priesthood? How does that impact our relationship with God? With other? How does that impact our work? How does that impact the various roles that we find ourselves in (spouse, student, parent, child, friend, etc)? 2.) Verse 9 contains some beautiful truths of who we are in Christ and then Peter tells us that we are that for the purpose of proclaiming the excellencies of God. What, besides declaring the excellencies of God, do we sometimes do as a result of those truths? 3.) What are some of the passions of the flesh that are waging war in your life? Take time now or at the end of your time together to pray for one another about this. 4.) Practically, what does it look like to live lives that are honorable? How does living honorable lives help us in our mission to proclaim the excellencies of God?
