THE SEPULCHER OF GLOOM
Trapped!Yourbandofheroeshasbeenforcedbythemultitudeofscreaming, yelling Darnoogies into the Sepulcher ofGloom.Harassedbyhundredsofthevile,junglesavages,youattemptedtoseekrefugeinsideoneoftheoldruinsthatlitterthejungle.Yousoonrealizedthatitwasatrap–theDarnoogiehavebeencorrallingyouintothisaccursedplaceallalong.Now you stand amongst the bone-littered floor withnowherelefttofleeastheboomingfootstepsofsomemonsterstalksthroughtheruinstowardstheroomyou’renowin.TheDarnoogiehavefledintothenichesandcranniesallaroundyou,theirwickedfeaturesgrinningmaniacallyastheyexpectantlywatchfortheReaverofSkullstoentertheSepulcherofGloom.Nowlet’sreturntothejunglesandseehowourheroesmanagedtofindthemselvesinthisdiresituation,andhowthey’llprevail.ChaseThroughtheJungleThingsbeginashundredsofDarnoogietribesmenpursuetheadventurersthroughtheJunglesofYi-Awm.Thechaseleadstothecaveentrance(lowermiddleofthemap).Asthecharactersarechasedthroughthecavesystem,theywillperformaDramaticTaskintheformofarunningfightwiththejunglesavages.ThiswillbedonebyeachplayermakingaTraitRollatpointsA1,A2,A3,A4andA5.Playersmaychoose any one of their chosen fighting skills: Fighting, Shooting, Throwing, or ArcaneBackground.Becauseofthevastlyoutnumberingfoes,thiswillbeanOpposedRollagainsttheDarnoogie,whowillroll2d6astheirFightingRollagainsteachcharacter.
Unlike,normalsessionsofSavageWorlds,playerswillbeginthis sessionwith noBennies. Any characterwith the LuckEdgewillbeginwithjustoneBenny.ActionCardswillbedealt to just theplayers todeterminetheorderoftheirrolls.Aftereachplayerrolls,theSifuwillroll2d6fortheDarnoogietodeterminetheTargetNumber

forthatplayer’sOpposedRoll(OnedieisaWildDiefortheDarnoogies;takethehigherofthetwo).Eachtimeaplayerexceedstheiropponents’roll,aBennywillbeplacedinacommunalpile.Eachtimeaplayerlossesanopposedroll,aBennywillbeplacedintheReaver’spile.AraiseresultsintwoBenniesforthewinneroftheOpposedRoll.ChaseThroughtheCavesWhenthepartyreachesA4,itdoesn’tmatterwhichpassagetheyfleedownsincebothleadtoA5.AfterOpposedRollsarefinalizedinA5,theDarnoogiewillpresstheplayersintothebackareaoftheSepulcherproper.Atthispoint,theDarnoogiewillstopandbecomeeerilysilent.ThentheReaverwillemergefromA6andalltheDarnoogiewillfleeupthewallsandintothenooksandcranniesonthesidesofthecaverns.ThecharacterswillheartheloudfootstepsandgrowlsoftheReaver.TheSepulcherofGloomOnce the characters face off withthe Reaver, they have run out ofroomtofleeandfindthemselvesinA7.At this point, theplayersmustdecide how they will utilize theircommunalBennypool.Thefloorofthisroomisstrewnwithbones and skulls. This acts asDifficult Terrain for the charactersandtheymoveathalfnormalPace.TheReaverdoesn’tsufferfromthispenaltysincehehasclovenhoovesand is so large thathecrushes theboneswhereverhesteps.You’llnoticethatthereisaledgethatrunsaroundtheperimeterofA7.TheDarnoogietakeuppositionsonthisledgetocheerandwatchthecarnage.Theywillalsotakepotshotsattheheroesduringthebattle.ShouldthebattleturnagainsttheReaver,theDarnoogiewill increasetheirattacks.IftheReaveriskilled,theDarnoogiewillfleeoutoffear.LightingintheSepulcherofGloomcorrespondstotheshadingonthemap.Brown=Dark,Gray=Dim,andBone=Normal.

UppingtheDifficultyIftheSifubelievesthatthedifficultyshouldbeincreasedbasedonthenumberofplayers,thestatsforTheReaverofSkullscanbe increased.Anothermethodisto increasetheamountofattackstheDarnoogiemakeonthepartywhiletheyarefightingtheReaver.DarnoogieThe Darnoogie are a tribe of small humanoids that live in theJungleofYi-Awm.OneparticulartribehasbeensubjugatedbytheReaver of Skulls andmust feedhim freshmeat to appeasehiswrath.Darnoogieareslightlysmallerthanmosthumansandareprimitiveintheirtribaltraditions.Theytypicallyfightwithspears,bows,andblowguns.Attributes:Agilityd8,Smartsd6,Spiritd6,Strengthd4,Vigord6Skills:Climbingd6,Fightingd6,Noticed6,Tauntd6,Shootingd8,Stealthd10,Throwingd6,Swimmingd6Pace:5,Parry:5,Toughness:4Gear:Spear,bows,andblowgunsSpecialAbilities
