Announcement from our Pastor
I want to share with you two announcements:
The first is that, after almost six years of serving the diocese as the Episcopal Vicar for Queens, my service in that role has ended as of March first. My second announcement is that I have been asked to take on an additional assignment by the Bishop. So, while remaining your pastor here at RA, I will also become the pastor of Our Lady of the Angelus Parish in Rego Park when their pastor retires on June 30
th. This sharing of clergy is happening more frequently these days with
the limited number of priests available to serve in that capacity and the large number of parishes in our dio-cese. This parish partnership should better ensure sacramental coverage and collaboration in our neighborhood and strengthen both parishes. As we prepare to begin this new journey, I ask you to pray for each other within the parishes, that we might be strong witnesses to the Good News of Jesus among all our sisters and brothers!

cindario y fortalecerá a ambas parroquias.
y hermanas.

Dear Friends, We call this week “Holy.” It is holy because we commemorate all that Christ did for us, to offer us salva-tion. Christ came in spite of our sinfulness and despite the rejection he would receive. It is also “Holy” because it shows us the true path to holiness and happiness—through the humble sacrifice of Jesus. May we take the time to reflect on the wonder of God’s love, and what it means for our lives today, right now! This Holy Week is like none other in our lifetimes! Perhaps it will give us a new perspective on the Passion of Jesus. We can certainly see his suffering in the suffering of our brothers and sisters around the world, and even in our own city, afflicted with the Coronavirus. We can surely picture Simon of Cyrene in the health care workers and first responders who have drawn so close to those who are suffering in this pandemic, and are helping them to carry their cross. Some of us have experienced the loss of a loved one and find it very difficult to deal with all of this without the usual support of one another. Perhaps we can also identify with the loneliness and isolation of Jesus on the Cross, as we experience our own isolation due to social distancing or even quarantine. The "Three Days" [the Triduum] of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Vigil of Easter are an important time in our life as Christians. I want to encourage you strongly to join us in prayer through Facebook or our parish web-site, as we find new ways to support one another spiritually and emotionally. In faith, we know the end of this story. We know that Jesus conquers sin and death. May we seek to walk with him this week, and may he walk with each of us, as we make our way from sadness to joy, from fear to trust, from death to new life! Peace and blessings, Father Tom

PALM SUNDAY OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD
ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
BODY + BLOOD + SOUL + DIVINITY
(To be prayed while you are at home viewing Mass)
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most
Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You
into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramen-
tally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite
myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Oración para la Comunión Espiritual
Creo, Jesús mío,
que estás real
y verdaderamente en el cielo
y en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar.
Te amo sobre todas las cosas
y deseo vivamente recibirte
dentro de mi alma,
pero no pudiendo hacerlo
ahora sacramentalmente,
ven al menos
espiritualmente a mi corazón.
