Our goal is to build a sustainable trail that has:
18-24” tread 4’ width clear of debris 8-10’ height clearance 10% maximum grade 5% Outslope Gradual curves that fit the
landscape Minimal structures Appropriate signage

The North Country Trail Association is the nonprofit partner of
the National Park Service in building and maintaining the NCT.
MISSION STATEMENT: The North Country Trail Associationdevelops, maintains, protects, and promotes the North Country
NationalScenic Trail as the premier hiking path across the northern tier
of theUnited States through a trail-wide coalition of volunteers and
partners.

A Trail Town is a community through which the North Country Trail passes that supports hikers with services, promotes the Trail to its citizens and embraces the Trail as a resource to be protected and celebrated.
