What are the advantages to survivors and What are the advantages to survivors and community?community?
If a family affected by disaster does not return to a level of self-sustainability within two years of the disaster, usually they will:
•Continue to need all the supports that community has to offeror
•Leave the community, taking away school enrollment, income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, etc.
It is in the best interest of the community to ensure that every affected family reaches the self-sustainability level
