Informal Concert – The Loud Crowd
Saturday 26 October 1.00pm The Loud Crowd is an amalgamation of four Gloucestershire community choirs run by
Liz Martin.
“If you sing, you share your heart around, if you sing you give your soul a sound, if you
sing you keep your feet on the ground and if you sing - YOU FLY.”
In celebration of the Museum of the Moon they will be singing Moon River, Under the
Moon of Love, and Blue Moon. Also a native American chant to the winter moon and a
song of these lovely words from the poem ‘The Old Astronomer’ by 19th century poet,
Sarah Williams.(Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light. I have
loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.)
And maybe one or two about the sun!
And, if there’s time, a few completely unrelated songs!
All are welcome!

Teenage Voices Project Concert
Wednesday 4 December at 6pm Gloucester Cathedral Voices Project
Three Gloucestershire schools per term benefit from the Cathedral’s Voices Project.
Four visits to each of the three selected schools are arranged to help develop singing and
encourage pupils and teachers to enjoy the benefits of group music-making.
The project culminates at the end of each term when the school choirs perform a
concert in the Cathedral to an audience of proud families, relations, school staff and
friends. We are very grateful to the generous donors who make this project such a
success and look forward to continuing this valuable work in Gloucestershire schools.
Everyone is welcome. Admission to the concert is free with a retiring collection for the Music
Department’s outreach work.

wonderful, uplifting setting of the scriptures. A choral mainstay since its first performance
in 1742, Handel’s Messiah is an essential part of Christmas and is not to be missed.
