Our Unique 3-D Kernel
As HiCAD next is based on our own ESM
kernel (European Solid Modeller) – the
most advanced versatile kernel on the
market - we are, in contrast to many of our
competitors, not dependent on outside
products and are able to react quickly to

This independence allows the swift
realisation of innovations and enables us
to stay at the forefront of technological
advances. As one of five 3-D kernels in

provide true 2-D/3-D interconnectivity.
2-D and 3-D in One File
The unique 2-D/3-D associativity of
HiCAD enables existing 2-D design data to
be combined with innovative 3-D design.
With HiCAD next you can use 2-D and 3-D
objects in a single file and process them
without switching applications or
windows. You can choose to design
directly in 3-D and derive a technical
drawing from the model, or alternatively,
continue to work in 2-D, insert 3-D ob-
jects if required, and then create a 3-D
model from your technical drawing. Our
specially developed 2-D/3-D Conver-
sation technique for smooth 3-D mi-
gration enables conversion to be carried
