The 80’s: Costuming for Footloose The Musical:Background There are three main looks for Footloose the Musical that carry through the show:
• Opening Number: Chicago
• Small mid-western town teen life (Bomont): not a real town on the map but it is based on a town in Oklahoma – so you get the picture!
• The final “prom” let loose scene
Costuming will reflect slight changes in scenes throughout – but the big style divide is:
• Big City 80’s;• Mid-western small town 80’s;• and “let loose and dance” 80’s!

Welcome to BomontRen moves to a fictitious town called Bomont (based on a town in Oklahoma)! Colors are more muted and restrained while showing some 80’s features too. Plaid and denim with some bursts of color rule the day. Think styles from the movie “The Breakfast Club” . Also think about your character’s personality and the clique they may be a part of!
