WELCOME MESSAGE
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Much to the astonishment of most countries, considering that majority of them are battling issues such as terror, hunger, deprivation and wars, the UAE has adopted, since its establishment, a wise and different policy. It has focused and embraced all important and beautiful aspects that are necessary in making our life better. By doing so, the UAE has become an unquestionable haven for security, tranquility and comfort.
Every year, we have a new and unique initiative that embodies the most beautiful meaning of giving and generosity as well as wishing good and happiness towards others. The helping hands of Emirati people have extended to the needy in all parts of the world.
The year 2018, “The Year of Zayed”, coincides with the convening of the 47th edition of IFTDO Conference in the United Arab Emirates, a land of love and peace. And in accordance with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed the setting up of a comprehensive framework to implement the “The Year of Zayed” initiative. The move is crystal clear proof that we deserve these initiatives and that we are going to implement them. We bring all brotherly and friendly nations together in our beloved land. You are most welcome to United Arab Emirates. You are here for happiness in the country of happiness; a country whose people hold the title of “The happiest people”. The system of this country is homogeneous, harmonious and coherent, thanks to the Government of Dubai, the Dubai Police General Command, and the hard working sons and daughters of this blessed land who have opened their hearts to all visitors and guests.
Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan TamimDeputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai
Chairman IFTDO 47TH
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
God has blessed our nation with the founding fathers who have adopted during its birth a rational policy based on building and making progress in all aspects of life and working to achieve happiness for every Emirati and for all who live in our blessed land.
Therefore, according to its short age, our country’s achievements and progress in economic, social, cultural and political fields are a miracle by all means. Today, it occupies the first places in many measures of progress and civilization at the global level in terms of achieving the highest rates in happiness, security and safety, the highest levels of sustainable development, the best human-friendly environment as well as that our blessed country has provided the best humanitarian aid and urgent humanitarian relief to all poor countries worldwide.
Today, UAE is ranked among the most advanced countries thanks to the insightful vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, (May God protect him) and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The 47th IFTDO World Conference and Exhibition has succeeded in choosing “FUTURE IS TODAY/ CREATING HAPPINESS AT WORKPLACE” as a main theme. The best point is that conference will be held in the Emirate of Dubai in UAE, where you find happiness in all sectors of our state and society. In fact, this tangible reality is a good addition to the themes of the conference.
On behalf of Dubai Police General Command, I would like to thank the organizers of this conference and wish them success and the best recommendations that may bring new resources for happiness.

UAE – A COHESIVE CONVERGENCE OF SEVEN EMIRATES
The United Arab Emirates or UAE is one of the most prosperous countries in the Middle East. It is made up of seven independent ‘ Emirates ’ - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
The UAE enjoys a prominent location in the Middle East bordered by the Gulf of Oman on one side and the Arabian Gulf on the other. Rooted in Islamic culture, the UAE has strong ties with the test of the Arab world and is now known as a modern thriving nation that is growing by leaps and bounds.
The UAE truly represents a melting pot of cultures and ideals with a diverse mix of locals and expatriates from around the world coming together to create a strong progressive economy. Over the last 50 or so years it has grown from a group of small fishing settlements and bedouin oasis in the middle of a quiet desert to a liberal developed nation which provides employment to millions and is becoming a tourist destination in its own right.
The discovery of oil changed the face of the UAE forever Oil exports and international trade are the country’s main sources of†income and much of the development can be traced back to its visionary rulers. The country is famed for its legendary horses and its national symbol the falcon. Many of the country’s activities centre around its natural landscapes which provide a setting for desert safaris on camel back. The UAE has a rich and varied heritage with a sense of rapid progress evident everywhere.
DUBAI
Dubai, the second largest of the seven emirates, is located along the shore of the Arabian Gulf in the North Western region of the United Arab Emirates. It is located on the banks of a creek, which is a natural inlet from the Gulf.
A city of contrasts, today Dubai is known as a cosmopolitan society with an international lifestyle that combines the comfort and convenience of the western world with the unique charm and hospitality of Arabia. In a single day, a tourist to Dubai can experience everything from rugged mountains and awe-inspiring sand dunes to sandy beaches and lush green parks. Don’t be surprised to discover dusty villages, luxurious residential districts and ancient houses with wind towers alongside ultra modern shopping malls. Dubai has long been recognized as the region’s capital for leisure, sport, exhibitions, conferences and commerce.
Home to some of the world’s biggest sporting events, as well as regular international music concerts and a contemporary film festival, Dubai has a vibrant cultural life. What’s more, the future holds even more promise for Dubai - with upcoming projects including the world’s largest shopping mall, the world’s largest hotel complex and the much talked about Palms project along the waterfront - all coming together to make it destination of choice in the region.
