MORFOLOGÍA Y COMPOSICIÓN
• Suele ser esférico en células animales e irregular en células vegetales.
• Contiene:• La mayor parte del ADN celular. Las moléculas de ADN están en
forma en forma de cromatina cuando la célula no está dividiéndose y están en forma de cromosomas cuando la célula estádividiéndose.
• Gran número de proteínas. Histonas y proteínas no histónicas de la cromatina, enzimas encargadas de la transcripción y la replicación, etc.

ARNr.• El ADN de esos genes contiene una zona llamada

aparece como una fibra de 300 nm., la cromatina, que no se ve ni con el m.o. y aparece como una masa coloreada.
• Cuando la célula va a dividirse la cromatina se condensa y forma los cromosomas que en todo el proceso de división van a ser visibles con m.o.

• CROMATINA Y CROMOSOMAS• Cuando la célula no está dividiéndose (interfase) el ADN
aparece como una fibra de 300 nm., la cromatina, que no se ve ni con el m.o. y aparece como una masa coloreada. Sin embargo, no toda la cromatina tiene el mismo nivel de actividad, por lo que se pueden distinguir dos tipos:
• La eucromatina: es cromatina que durante el ciclo celular va a sufrir etapas de condensación y descondensación, de forma que cuando estádescondensada en interfase es muy activa en cuanto a la transcripción.
• La heterocromatina: es un tipo de cromatina altamente condensada de forma permanente, por lo que no sufre esos ciclos de condensación y descondensación. No transcribe.

Todos los individuos que pertenecen a la misma especie poseen en sus células el mismo número de cromosomas, excepto en las células reproductoras (gametos), que contienen solo la mitad.
Los organimos diploides (2n) tienen cromosomas homólogos.
Los organismos haploides (n) solo tienen un juego cromosómico.

• Es el proceso por el cual a partir de una célula madre se originan dos células hijas idénticas genéticamente a la progenitora.
• El material genético duplicado (ADNX2) en el periodo S de la interfase, se reparte durante, la división celular, entre las dos células hijas.
• Comprende dos procesos:
• MITOSIS, CARIOCINESIS o DIVISIÓN DEL NÚCLEO.
• CITOCINESIS o DIVISIÓN DEL CITOPLASMA.

separando los centrosomas que se habían duplicado en la fase S de la interfase.

1. Los cromosomas condensados empiezan a ser visibles y cada vez son más cortos y gruesos. Cada cromosoma tiene dos cromátidas hermanas unidas por sus centrómeros, cada uno con un cinetocoro.
2. El núcleo (con el nucleolo) empieza a desaparecer y la membrana nuclear se rompe en pequeñas vesículas.
3. El húso mitótico empieza a formarse a medida que se van separando los centrosomas que se habían duplicado en la fase S de la interfase.

• El citoplasma se divide no por segmentación sino por la formación de una nueva pared.
• Las vesículas del complejo de Golgi se desplazan hasta alcanzar el centro de la región ecuatorial. Allí se acumulan y se funden formando la placa celular o fragmoplasto. En ese momento se forman los plasmodesmos y después va creciendo hasta alcanzar la pared de la célula madre.
• El contenido de las vesículas forma la lámina media y la membrana será la membrana de las células hijas.

COLCHICINA• La colchicina es un alcaloide extraíble de las plantas
Colchicum autumnale y Gloriosa superba.
• Compuesto que evita el reparto de los brazos de un cromosoma durante la mitosis, provocando la poliploidía de la célula filial, ya que aunque no haya separación, sí hay duplicación del material genético. Su efecto se debe a su acción sobre las proteínas citoesqueléticas del huso mitótico.
• Utilizado durante muchos años como la piedra angular del tratamiento de la gota (enfermedad inflamatoria articular en relación con el aumento de los niveles sanguíneos de ácido úrico), hasta la aparición de los antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINE), tiene cierto protagonismo en la terapéutica actual como inmunomodulador y antifibrótico en diversas enfermedades autoinmunes (esclerodermia, cirrosis biliar primaria, etc...).
