More than any other beauty care, people desire the expertise of a professional hairstylist.
Famous established names in the hairdressing industry such as Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Trevor Sorbie and Tony and
Guy have inspired hairstylists all over the world.
Hairstyling is an important life long industry, fulfilling the needs from the toddlers’ first trim to enhancing the self image of
all ages – male and female with haircuts, colorants and styles to suit faces and lifestyles.
This can be incredibly rewarding.
Good hairstylists are in short supply and a qualified, creative hairdresser will never be redundant.
Everyone – men and woman alike, needs a good self image, and imaginative and inspired hairstyling is one of the most
important “feel great” boosters affecting our personal success.
There are many different approaches to choose from as a professional hairdresser:
Salons, Retail, Cruise Liners, Television & Film, Fashion Shows, Theatre, Magazines / Advertising and Education
Product Training etc. The opportunities are endless………
Course details:
Full time (two years)
The course is two years full time formal training and thereafter the learner will be required to work in a salon in
order to complete the informal hours to qualify for the trade test as specified by Services Seta. All summative
examinations will take place after completing the required salon hours. Only formative assessments take place during
this time. This course is designed for the learner who prefers to spend more time on a unit to perfect their outcomes.
In the Two year course the learner has the option to add advanced Indian head massage, Nail technology and Image
consulting to their portfolio. Lectures 09h00 am – 15h00 pm (Monday – Friday) Normal School Holidays apply
The hairdressing department is open every day until 17h00pm; the learners are welcome to use the facilities.
18 Months Part Time
The course is eighteen months part time formal training on a Saturday and thereafter the learner will be required to
work in a salon in order to complete the informal hours to qualify for the trade test as specified by Services Seta. The
learner is required to complete a total of 3600 hour in total prior to applying for the trade examination. The course is
eighteen months part time formal training on a Monday or Thursday, and the learner is required to work in a salon
whilst they are completing their formal training. Saturdays 09h00am – 14h00pm (February 2014) OR Mondays 09h00am – 15h00pm (February 2014) Thursdays 09h00-
15h00 (February 2014)
Face to Face National Assessment
International Assessment
The course teaches the learner both Caucasian and Afro-Caribbean hairdressing techniques. Product training, external demonstrations and shows will be included in the students’ syllabus. The student will create their own portfolio of evidence. Projects and assessments are all part of the hairdressing course.

Contract

Accepted on the following conditions: 1. Total cost of the Course: Hairdressing Full Time ONE Year Diploma 2. The cost of the 18 Month program is R50 000.00 and shall be payable as follows:
R 10 000.00 Deposit to be paid by the 1st December 2014
The balance of R 40 000.00 to be paid at the rate of R 2 352.94 per month, payable from 1st JANUARY 2014 to the 1st May 2015 over 17 months
If you are utilizing our payment scheme, please note:
1. Fees are due by the 28th of each month. If fees are not paid by the 1st of the month, they are considered to be in arrears. The learner will be immediately suspended until the full arrear payment is settled. ( ALL FEES MUST REFLECT OR PROOF OF PAYMENT MUST BE PROVIDED)
2. If full arrear payment is not settled within one month following suspension, the FULL contract amount will need to be immediately settled, in order to avoid the account being handed over for collection.
3. If the learner withdraws from the course, the person responsible for fees will be responsible for the full balance of the contract and no money will be refunded.
4. Learners’ fees must be up to date before assessments are conducted (FORMATIVE OR SUMMATIVE)
5. Fees exclude International assessments, 1st Aid training, towels and linen and the Local Authority registration fees.
6. No cheques will be accepted. EFT’s are the preferred method of payment; we prefer that all deposits are made directly into our bank account & that cash payments are limited. Please use the students surname as reference.
7. All fees must be paid by 1 November 2013 or the learner will not be allowed to enter into Face to Face Final Examinations or any international examination
8. All re-do fees or late submission fees will be added to the leaner’s statement and must be paid before the re-do takes place or the project gets marked. ( Please check College Rules & Regulations for more information)
