WHAT CAN xpdrainage MODEL?
MODEL WITH CONFIDENCE WITH
WHY xpdrainage?
Designers, planners and engineers in charge of new
development and urban revitalisation realise more than
ever the necessity to incorporate Low Impact Development,
Water Sensitive Urban Design and Sustainable Drainage
approaches into their designs. Green Infrastructure is
becoming the norm and those not including it in their
designs will soon be lagging behind. With ever increasing
project complexity combined with pressure to keep design
costs down, it is important to consider multiple connected
stormwater controls in one design and make visualising
them easy for clearly reviewable submissions.
xpdrainage is a sustainable drainage design package that
can perform hydrological analysis on combined green and
grey stormwater infrastructure from conceptual planning
to detailed design for water quality and quantity analysis.
xpdrainage walks the user through the design process, and
allows for easy comparison between results, from pre- and
post- development scenarios to multiple mitigation options.
xpdrainage is purpose built to provide a visual, approachable, easy to understand and thorough platform for your LID/BMP/WSUD/SuDS planning and design requirements.
Clear Visualisation of Design - xpdrainage removes the guess work.
• Demonstrating system performance visually against live network data
• Clearly show there is space for stormwater controls on site with plan views.
• Use profile views to see how the design is connected and show the levels of your design are correct.
• Instant warnings also highlight flood risk and flooding
A Treatment Train Approach. - xpdrainage removes the guess work.
• Design connected stormwater controls to include
important effects of downstream water levels.
• Follow EPA Best Management Practices of taking a
treatment train approach.
• Show the connected systems work together in profile
and plan views.
Simplified Workflow - quickly learn the xpdrainage interface
with its intuitive workflow
• An easy to use interface to guides you through the
design process
• xpdrainage responds to your current action to present
only valid and logical options
• Build trust and confidence in results submissions
DESIGN WITH CONFIDENCE
EFFICIENT DESIGN
Digital Terrain Model. Create or import land surfaces
in xpdrainage to allow assignment of elevations and
computation of overland flow depths and directions.
GIS and CAD Integration. Use GIS and CAD files as
background images; snap to data from SHP, MID/MIF, DWG
or DXF files. Import data from layers and polygons. Reference
multiple files with paths displayed for easy reference and
project control.
Background Images. Import multiple georeferenced
images for enhanced visual display.
Stormwater Controls. The user has the ability to customise
the stormwater control parameters to suit a wide range of
applications for treatment, filtration and storage devices.
Inlet and Outlet Controls. Allow for bypass flows and
lateral inflow types. Choose from a wide range of flow
controls such as orifices, weirs and gates.
Pipes and Channels. Combine the grey infrastructure with
the green by connecting your stormwater controls with
pipes and channels, manholes or simple junctions. Use the
Automatic Pipe Sizing. Auto Size tool to automatically size
pipes based on rational method design criteria including
minimum velocities and depths.
Templates. xpdrainage can be localised with templates to
vastly reduce model setup time, storing information for
rainfall, pollutants, stormwater controls, inlet specifications,
results presentation and more.
COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS
Use Natural Flowpaths: The Deluge feature within
xpdrainage provides a fast method of analysis for identifying
overland flow patterns to bring stormwater management
to the front of the design process and allow placing of
stormwater controls in locations that make the most sense.
Volume Calculators. Storage Estimate and Water Quality
volume calculators provide sizing tools to give a quick initial
guide before moving to detailed design of stormwater
controls.
Rainfall. Import or enter rainfall data from a wide variety
of sources for design storms or historical rainfall records.
Alternatively, select inbuilt design storms - SCS, ARR, FSR or
FEH rainfall methodologies
Runoff. Calculate runoff from catchment areas using Time
Area, Time of Concentration, SCS or Laurenson runoff
methods.
Dynamic Analysis. Choose from two pollutant removal
methodologies for analysis of water quality. Also include
effects of levels storage and hydrograph timing including
detailed flow and depth calculations through stormwater
controls and connections.
Advanced System Validation. Before analysis review
a summary of potential level inconsistencies or input
errors which would have significant undesired impact
on the model if unchecked. Use a choice of options to
automatically adjust the problematic areas, or to manually
override individual adjustments.
VERSATILE RESULTS AND OUTPUTS
Communicating a drainage plan with numerous different
stakeholders can be the most challenging part of the job
but with multiple presentation options to compare design
phases producing clear results submissions becomes easy.
Compare results. Include tabular, graphical and recorded
animations comparing pre- and post-development
and mitigation scenarios or phases in design reports.
Demonstrate and quantify the impacts to your clients and
other stakeholders.
Results Templates. Save reporting formats for sharing and
re-use to save time in producing acceptable results each
time.
Profile Views. Get immediate feedback on the levels
throughout your systems on a longsection. The interactive
interface allows you to update quickly and see the effects.
