Lower Fuel Consumption
Small engine carburetors deliver an excessivefuel-to-air-ratio at both low power output andat high power output making effective altitude
compensation difficult to achieve. EFI allowsthe proper air/fuel ratio to be maintained withaltitude and other changing air density conditions.Depending on the engine expect a 15% to 30%reduction in fuel usage in both two and four strokeengines when converting from carburetor to EFI.
Improved Starting Performance
The EFI system can calculate the optimum air/fuel mixture for starting in all conditions. Thepressurized fuel system and fuel injector providesuperior fuel atomization at colder temperatures.
EFI mitigates the need for the user to makecarburetor adjustments that can later adverselyaffect flight behavior.
Improved Engine Reliability and Durability
EFI control systems maintain optimum air/fuel ratios during all phases of operation. Thisreduces the number of random engine outagesand prolongs engine life reducing costly enginemaintenance, and significantly increasing theMTBF/MTBR (Mean-Time Between Failures/Mean-Time Between Repairs or Replacements).
Maintain Peak Power and Better Fuel
Economy
Because EFI maintains proper air/fuel ratio underall conditions, peak power can be maintained
while also improving fuel economy.
Expanded Engine Performance Envelope
Since the ECU can automatically adjust the fuelingfor ambient pressure changes EFI engines canoperate effectively at sea-level or in the mountainswithout having to be re-tuned or adjusted. Thisfunction is required to reduce the power lapse ofthe engine at higher altitudes. Less power lapsemeans a higher altitude envelope.
Engine Data Collection
Onboard data logging comes with each ECU.The ECU logging feature is fully user configurablefor channels and data rate as well as trigger and
overwrite settings.
Plug and Play Operation with Avionics
STRATUS EFI systems are easily integrated withthe Cloud Cap Technology family of Piccoloavionics. In addition, through the open and fullydocumented API and the CANbus interface, theSTRATUS EFI system can be readily integratedwith other avionics.

Cylinder Head Temp Sensor
A lightweight and robustsensor used for sensing thetemperature of the cylinder headin small fuel injected engines. Itis particularly suited for use inthe UAV industry.
ECU Type B

Injector Assembly
