OLD PALMS Wednesday, March 1, is Ash Wednesday this year. We will be burning old palms to prepare the Ashes for distribution on Ash Wednesday. There will be boxes in the Church to receive your old palms on February 12, February 19, and February 26, in order to give us time to burn the palms and get them prepared for Ash Wednesday. If you have old palms, please bring them on these dates.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S CLUB The Catholic Women's Club will host a luncheon Thursday, February 16 at Coral Gables in East Lansing. We begin at 12:30 and the cost is $18.00. All Catholic women of the Lansing Diocese are invited to join us. For further information, please contact Michele at 706-9198.

FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT St. Vincent Catholic Charities is proud to partner with the Michigan Catholic Conference for From Darkness to Light: Human Trafficking & Our Response. Human traf-ficking is a growing crime that violates the fundamental rights and the dignity of women, children and men. On Saturday, February 11, attendees of the conference will learn more about the issue of human trafficking, organi-zations that work to combat the crime, and ways they can make an impact in awareness efforts. You can complete the required registration at www.micatholic.org/fromdarknesstolight/. Contact [email protected] or 517-316-3588 with questions.

RETREAT FOR DIVORCED CATHOLICS February 10-12, 2017 at St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt. This warm and uplifting event is less about the daily details of your life–or the devastation of your di-vorce–than it is a special time to draw close to Our Lord. Drawing from the story of the Samaritan woman who en-counters Christ at Jacob’s well, this event recognizes that after divorce people are much more aware of the deep thirst that needs quenching … particularly in all their relationships. Included in the weekend is a fun wel-come and introduction, talks, helpful exercises, small group breakouts, quiet time for reflection, meals, a full-length movie, and more. The Sacrament of Reconcilia-tion will be available. To register, go to www.stfrancis.ws/upcoming-retreats.html
