WEDNESDAY POT LUCK DINNERS The St. Mary Wednesday night potlucks are every Wednesday night at 6pm in the Parish Hall. The pot-lucks have been a great way to share a meal and social-ize/get to know fellow parishioners. All you need to do to attend is to bring a dish to pass, your own table service and $2 if you wish (for the main dish that the cooking team has provided). The cooking teams provide a main dish item as well as beverages. Come join us for the Wednesday night potlucks - you’ll be glad you did! If you would like more information on this or would like to help, please contact Mike or Terri Hecksel at 482-3196.

Cleaning day? The basement of our Parish Center is a wonderful space, but it has become very cluttered and in general is a mess. This spring, sometime after Easter, we will be having a Saturday morning cleaning. No date yet. Still working on some plans, but just planting a seed. If you would like a tour, just let me know. You are in my prayers. Fr. Karl Pung

Young Adults The Lansing area Young Adults gather on the First Thursday of the month at Resurrection parish for I.D. 9:16. I.D. 9:16 involves a Mass at 6:30 p.m., fol-lowed by dinner and a live streamed talk and small group discussion. The gathering is a good time to connect with other young Catholics who are also seeking to deepen their faith lives. A number of our parishioners already participate in this event. More and more our Church is becoming less parochial and wider Church focused. Each parish does not have to have its own ‘everything.’ Some things we can share which leads to a great experience of the Church. Resurrection hosts I.D. 9:16. We host the Wednesday evening Exposition and Praise. Everyone benefits when we decide not to compete with ourselves. We can still be Cathedral parishioners and attend events at other parishes. Our competition is with the world, not other Christians. (*gets off soap box*) ☺ Lent I hope your Lent is off to a reasonable start. Some-times during these seasons the graces can be clear and palpable and other times it feels like we are walking through a cloud and are not sure what God is doing. Be assured that even if you give God a little room, He will definitely use it. The season is bigger than us. Remember it is not always about how much I can do, but about how well I cooperated with what God want-ed to do. Let us keep encouraging each other in the walk toward greater freedom and openness in Jesus Christ. Be sure to lift someone up today. Communal Confession services for our Vicariate are being held on Sunday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Gerard. (I will be preaching at St. Gerard.) Please take advantage of the oppor-tunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Confession. Piano—Free to a good home. We have an extra piano (it is a little older and the foot pedals are not attached) in one of the rooms upstairs in our Parish Center. It still carries a note on it from two music directors ago. The piano is a baby grand and if anyone would like it, you can have it. If you would like to come by and take a look, call the parish office.
