The 10th International Mycological Congress 2014
Welcome Message from IMC 2014 On behalf of the organizing committee, it is a great pleasure to invite you to be our honorable sponsor for the 10th International Mycological Congress (IMC10), which will be held from 3 – 8 August 2014 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. This forthcoming event is hosted by the Thai Mycological Association (TMA) together with Kasetsart University, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the International Mycological Association (IMA). IMC 10 is the first to be held in Southeast Asia and will continue the broad scope developed at IMC9 in Edinburgh, with themes of Cell biology; Genetics, genomics and molecular biology; Phylogenetics, evolution and systematics; Diversity and conservation; Environment, ecology and interactions; Human, animal and plant pathogenesis and control; and, Biotechnology and applied aspects. We expect this conference to be a significant platform designed to attract more than 2,000 renowned, as well as budding, mycologists from all over the world and to provide an environment for presenting research, exchanging ideas, andestablishing collaborative and strategic partnerships. The 10th International Mycological Congress will be under the theme “Fungal Biodiversity,Physiology and Ecology in a Changing Environment”, providing plenary sessions, symposia, and oral and poster presentations throughout its 5 days duration. Your support will be a significant contributory factor to the success of this event. We are fully committed to ensure that the profile of your organization will be considerably enhanced by your involvement in this symposium. Please find enclosed details of the symposium and many sponsorship opportunities. We look forward to your favorable response and participation in this significant international symposium. Thank you for your consideration.

The 10th International Mycological Congress 2014
Background AAbboouutt tthhee CCoonnggrreessss:: The Kingdom ‐Fungi, constitute in excess of 1.5 million different species and they can be found in every ecosystem on our planet. By the same token, their diversity is enormous and they have a great impact on man and the environment. Their benefits are seen in the foods we consume, such as mushrooms, cheeses, drinks and sauces and now, more recently, fungi have been discovered that produce antibiotics, anticancer agents and even fuel‐related compounds. Fungi are also used in the industrial manufacture of chemicals and enzymes. They are the main recyclers in the terrestrial environment, and at the same time help feed forest trees through mycorrhizal association with roots. They have close associations with algae or cyanobacteria to form lichens which are useful indicators of environmental change. Significantly, some fungi can damage food and food products, wood, furniture, fabrics, and even petroleum products. Yet, how much do we really know about the working processes of fungi, and for that matter, how many fungi really exist on the planet? The aim of this conference is to look at the enormous wealth of species and genetic diversity in the fungi, biological functions, relationships and adaptions to our changing environment and to discover their ever increasing role in providing benefits to mankind. The theme of this conference is to look at the enormous wealth of species and genetic diversity in the fungi, their biological functions, relationships, and adaptations to our changing environment. The following topic areas for symposia in the scientific program are proposed: Scientific Theme 1 Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology Scientific Theme 2 Genomics, Genetics and Molecular Biology Scientific Theme 3 Plant, Human and Animal Pathogenesis and Disease Control Scientific Theme 4 Environment, Ecology and Interactions Scientific Theme 5 Phylogenetics, Evolution and Systematics Scientific Theme 6 Diversity and Conservation Scientific Theme 7 Biotechnology and Applied Aspects Scientific Theme 8 Mycotoxins and Mycotoxicosis (ISMYCO) OObbjjeeccttiivvee:: IMC 10 is the largest fungal conference held every four years and it is the first time to be held in Southeast Asia and will continue the broad scope developed at IMC9 in Edinburgh, with themes of Cell biology; Genetics, genomics and molecular biology; Phylogenetics, evolution and systematics; Diversity and conservation; Environment, ecology and interactions; Human, animal and plant pathogenesis and control; and, Biotechnology and applied aspects.
