• Migration solution:
• For MPLS backbone, deploy 6PE or 6vPE, only need to upgrade PE; for MPLS VPN, must deploy 6vPE.
• For IP backbone, deploy dual-stack, need upgrade network devices.
• Deploy DNSv6 server.

BFD for everything: Fast fault detection Static/Dynamic
Single-hop/Mulit-hop
For IPv6 in the future
Huawei first innovated the static BFD through the expansion of IETF standard,
Single-hop BFD:For failure detection of directly connected link between routers in the same network segment. Multi-hop BFD:For failure detection of indirectly connected link between routers in the different network segment.
When using BFD to detect physical status of link, you may not be able to specify the IP address of the peer, then, you need to send BFD control packets to the multicast address which is binded to BFD session. BFD is transitting to IPv6 as the increasing of network.

FRR for High reliability IP FRR
While the main link is available, IP FRR strategy set by Route-Policy, provides the forwarding engine with the forwarding information of the backup route. When the main link fails, service can be transmitted by the backup route.
LDP FRR
Through master and slave tag technology, 50ms switching function of network failure can be achieved.
VPN FRR
• The failure report of BFD detection can cause VPN FRR. • Solve the problem of rapid convergence of the tunnel endpoint failure. • Simple, reliable, and easy to deploy • VPN FRR is not dependent on the coordination of peripherals, in addition to the fast fault detection between PEs.
MPLS TE FRR
Flexible deployment, and 50ms switching, which user cannot detect.
BFD can detect the failure of the transmission device, and cause TE switching for non-
stop service.
Huawei is the first in the industry to provide BFD for TE FRR.

SGCC Power Dispatch Data Network Backbone Upgrade
Consolidation of the entire network involves the 1 national core, the 5 regional
cores , and the 25 provincial cores network.
Huawei NE40E routers and S-series switches are deployed, to set up redundant
backbone networks. This infrastructure provides backup route and ensure high
reliability.
MPLS and BFD for FRR are deployed on entire network, to reduce break time
further in case of link failure.

SGCC(State Grid Corporation of China) is the biggest Power Grid company in the
world. It serves 26 provinces in China, covering more than one billion population.
As Smart Grid tactic planned, SGCC need to upgrade its power dispatch data
network backbone, to improve reliability and extend coverage.
Profit from Huawei’s new unique MPLS technology, the requirements for access
routers are lowered, so TCO is reduced greatly.
The high reliable network backbone makes entire redundancy for dispatch
communication system, which sustains smart power dispatch strongly.
