Download - some of my favorite cellphone photos
my favorite cellphone pictures after going round and round on a topic for this assignment,
I finally chose something I could relate to and hopefully would be
easy to do. after much struggle, I decided to use images taken with
my cellphone.
i chose my favorites and
loosely grouped them by
type.
the first group consists of photos from around my
neighborhood. that first photo just happened by ac-
cident. i was walking back to my hale from “town”
and just prior to an intense rain shower a magnifi-
cent double rainbow appeared.
these lovely flowers bloom all Summer long on the Plumeria tree just off the back lanai of my little hale
i bought this ukulele from a friend of mine that
needed some
fast cash.
he’s a good
guy and gave
me a decent
deal (maybe?).
anyway, it’s a
nice uke. So I
was strumming
along on it
one afternoon
and the light
looked just
right (i wanted
to show my new
purchase to my
dad) so I just set it up on the rail and snapped this
lovely photo. I think it makes a nice composition and
takes advantage of the lights and shadows.
Nashville, TN - August 2012
these are from my trip to the mainland last summer. i flew into Crestview, FL to meet up with my dad and his wife
and we went to Nashville to visit my sister and her kids. be-ing a festive bunch as we are we went down to the little indoor/outdoor bar for happy hour. what you can’t tell from these pictures is that it’s sweltering hot and it’s just before sunset! we were walking along and i turned around and caught my neice walking with my dad. a lot of love there, let me tell ya ;-)
Lahaina Noon - July 11, 2012
Wailua Golf and Country Club 12:42 pm
this was definitely a cool serendipitous mo-ment. while golfing with my good buddy Duane, I said “hey isn’t today Lahaina Noon?” well he whips out the smartphone to verify and sure enough, we were just in time to catch 100% virtical shadows. it only happens in the tropics and it only happens twice a year.
i was admiring this incredible handmade wooden wa’a when suddenly these two lovely ladies step into the frame. thanks girls (i think it makes for a much more interesting composition)
