To what do we attribute this performance?
• First, our success is attributed to God for if you “ask the Lord to bless your plans . . . you will be successful in carrying them out” (Prov. 16:3); the CED Dean and the Intel Teach implementers are persons who are after God’s heart, and so, are beloved and blessed by Him (Col. 3:33)
• Second, our Implementation Plans for AY 2005-2006 became our blueprint for success
To what do we attribute this performance?
• Third, our commitment to train resulted in producing the biggest number of Intel Teach implementers and the biggest number of pre-service teachers trained in Intel Teach
• Fourth, having an ICT training team composed of a “special breed” of teachers so that by the end of the First Semester, AY 2005-2006, we accomplished about 90% of our Implementation Plans
To what do we attribute this performance?
• Fifth, synergy or synergism• Sixth, designation of an Educational
Technologist as Media Coordinator • Seventh, knowing “who” the members of
the ICT training are, their forte and competence was the key in the speed and ease with which we were able to conduct “non-stop” training.
Our Strategies• Curriculum review and re-aligning subjects
with the Intel Teach to the Future Pre-service Curriculum
• Curriculum revision
• Reduced class size for classes doing Intel Teach
• Regrouping of classes
Our Strategies• Assigning Ed 105 to specialists of the
different departments
• Series of short, step-by-step, ICT training
• Linkages and alliance building
• Scaffolding
Scaffolding• Survey of readiness for Intel Teach• Free computer literacy sessions• Pairing the computer literate with the
computer illiterate• Pairing students taking the same degree
program• Use of ICT equipment in the classroom for
free for Intel Teach activities
Scaffolding• Requesting approval for the use of ICT
facilities overnight or beyond office hours• Faculty members’ use of the computers at
the ICT laboratory for free• Improving our ICT infrastructure• Encouraging in-house trained faculty
members to implement Intel Teach by giving all-out support to them
Our “Best Practices”• Team Teaching• Peer Tutorials• Common syllabus for Ed 105 and Ed 107• Coordination between the Ed 105 and Ed
107 faculty implementers• Centralized class scheduling• Best Unit Portfolio Award and Certificate of
Completion
Our “Best Practices”• Facilitating the implementation of unit
portfolios by thesis advising and by assigning Practice Teaching to Intel Teach faculty implementers
• Linking Pre-service with In-service Intel Teach
• Designation of a Media/Intel Teach Coordinator
