glad to be able to work
together in our servicefor the Lord’s Church

I have also begun lead-
ing singing on Sundays
and they have recently
asked me to begin
teaching the members
some new songs soon.
It is rewarding to be
able to use our gifts

attention has been pri-
marily focused on learn-

Kristina and I have been
teaching the young chil-
dren’s class on Sunday
Mornings for three
months now. It has beenchallenging and reward-
ing. Since we have chil-
dren who speak both
English and Spanish in
our class, we try to teach
in both languages as
well. It has given us a
good opportunity to put
some of what we have
been learning in school
to good use quickly. Weare making our way
through the Old Testa-
ment and have covered
from Creation through
the Ten Commandments so
far. Every week the kids

And Isaiah’s class

blessed to share this
unforgettable time

School Days
El Ratoncito Perez
Team Health We are so blessed to be
on the field with our
teammates! We have
continued to be encour-
aged, motivated, and
challenged by the Garcia
and Reyes families as we
learn the language and
culture together. We
have also been encour-
aged by visitors from the
States who always bring a
welcome word from
home. This week we will
be blessed to meet with
Paul Dowell from Sunset
Church of Christ and Jay
Jarboe from the Missions
Resource Network as a
family and team. We are
looking forward to this
time to refocus and be
refreshed. Our team con-
tinues to meet regularly
to fellowship, plan, and
dream together. I cannot
imagine living here with-
out their support!
When a child in Mexico
loses a tooth, it is not the
Tooth Fairy who mysteri-
ously exchanges it for
money or a small gift.
No...Here in Mexico, that
job falls to the Tooth
Mouse, affectionately
known as el Ratoncito
Perez. While this tradition
seems more realistic than

does raise questions as to

love their school and they

that we don’t yet know.
Juliana also takes dance
classes, and Noah is play-
ing soccer on his school
team. Even Isaiah is in
class while we are in lan-
guage school. He always
has an entourage of mid-
dle school girls following
him in and out of class,
and his teachers call him
Guapo (handsome) so
much that he has started
to answer to that name as
well. Our kids are
blessed to be able to
keep up with what’s go-
ing on with their family
and friends back home
through Skype. They
love getting online and to
watch and listen to their
Grandmas talk and read
books to them.
