Setting Up Your Tshirt Printing
Project
![Page 3: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
When we begin your tshirt printing project, it is crucial that we place your images
correctly on the shirt so that they look their best.
![Page 4: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
This is particularly important when we are placing an image
on the left chest area.
![Page 5: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
I'm sure you've seen T-shirts where the image is placed
almost under the arm.
![Page 6: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
We make sure that doesn't happen.
![Page 7: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Tshirt Printing Position Across the
Chest
![Page 8: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Our maximum tshirt printing area is 10.5″ x 8″.
![Page 9: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
When we line this up on the T-shirt the top of the image is normally about 3” below the
bottom of the collar hem.
![Page 10: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
This is determined by centering the image and also viewing where the line across
the bottom of the sleeves would intersect.
![Page 11: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
The image is centered so that the top two thirds of the image
is above that imaginary line and the bottom third is below.
![Page 12: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
![Page 13: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Printing In the Left Chest Area
![Page 14: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
This is somewhat trickier if you don't know the system.
![Page 15: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
At Tshirts Canada we have a procedure and guidelines that
we follow.
![Page 16: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
The correct placement of an image or graphic in the left
chest area is that the center of the image is directly below the
collar hem at the top of the shirt and either sitting on the line from the bottom of the sleeves or slightly above it.
![Page 17: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Now naturally different images are going to display differently
on the T-shirts so one thing that we do is we put a T-shirt on a mannequin or a person,
place the image and then evaluate that printing position
by measuring.
![Page 18: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
We do not just eyeball it - simply because we want all of the shirts to look consistent.
![Page 19: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
![Page 20: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Creating a Template for Your
Tshirt Printing
![Page 21: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Once we have determined the optimal position for your logo, we simply create and print a
tshirt printing template on cardstock.
![Page 22: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
We then cut out the image so that we can place the transfer
into the hole.
![Page 23: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
This allows us to it to lay the template on top of the shirt, place
a transfer through the hole directly onto the shirt, line the
transfer up, hold the transfer in place while removing the
cardstock template and then pressing the shirt.
![Page 24: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
This way the tshirt printing is on straight and the shirts look
consistent and great!
![Page 25: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
![Page 26: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
Tshirt Printing On The Back Of The
Shirt
![Page 27: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
When doing the tshirt printing on the back the same general
guidelines apply as for the front.
![Page 28: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
So again, this means centering on the shirt with two
thirds of the image being above the line that would
intersect the bottom of each sleeve and the other third
below the line.
![Page 29: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
Now there are times when the image would sit on that line
because naturally it's all about how it visually looks.
![Page 30: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
There are also times when we will shift the transfer up so that
the tshirt printing remains balanced looking.
![Page 31: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
![Page 32: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/32.jpg)
Printed Just Below the Collar
![Page 33: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/33.jpg)
Frequently we are asked to print a smaller image directly
below the collar.
![Page 34: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/34.jpg)
Due to the nature of our tshirt printing operation the image must be about 4” below the bottom of the collar since
when the T-shirt is laid flat on our heat press, the hem of the
collar on the front is lower than the hem on the back.
![Page 35: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/35.jpg)
So to maintain a flat printing surface we must be below
that.
![Page 36: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/36.jpg)
![Page 37: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/37.jpg)
By us taking a little time to make sure everything is lined
up properly your printed T-shirts will arrive looking great!
![Page 38: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/38.jpg)
Naturally we can also print on different areas of the shirt
such as the sleeves and down at the bottom hem or off to the side, but this should give you
an idea how we go about lining up your tshirt printing.
![Page 39: Setting up your tshirt printing project](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/558c860dd8b42a15078b4626/html5/thumbnails/39.jpg)
