Sequoia WoodturnersThe Sequoia Woodturners is a woodturning club based
in central California’s San Joaquin Valley. The Club is
a member of the American Association of Woodturn-
ers and has been serving the central San Joaquin Valley
woodturning community since 1997.
Meetings take
place on a bi-
monthly basis
to discuss up
coming events,
new tools, and to
help improve our
members turning skills. Our meetings allow members to
share the wonderful work they create and promote the
free exchange of ideas and designs.
During meetings, one of our
members provides the
club with a great
demonstration.
These dem-
onstrations
help teach our
novice turners
new tricks and
techniques.
MembershipWe are always looking for new members to join our
club. If you are interested in becoming a member of the
Sequoia Woodturners please contact us for more infor-
mation.
Membership dues are paid on an annual basis. Cost
for one calendar year is $40 per person (or $20 for the
remainder of the year after June 30th).
The membership application is available on our website,
and at any of our
bi-monthly meet-
ings. Guests are
always welcome at
our meetings. We
recommend at-
tending one or two
meetings before join-
ing to see what we
have to offer.

Pro DemosWe’re always on the lookout for professional demonstra-
tors touring the West Coast and try to get as many of the
top names in turning
to do a demonstration
right here in the Cen-
tral Valley. Presenta-
tions are usually a full
day with lunch pro-
vided. Sign up fees vary
from demo to demo.
Past presenters have in-
cluded Mike Mahoney,
Jason Breach, Jimmy
Clewes, Eric Lofstrom
and Glenn Lucas.

Club MeetingsSequoia Woodturners hold regular meetings every other
month. Our meetings begin with club announcements
followed by a presentation. Presentations cover all aspects
of turning - from sharpening to tool manufacture as well
as live lathe demonstrations. We wrap up our meetings
with a “show and tell” session where members show off
their latest projects and tools.
Meetings are held on the last Saturday of every other
month (with exceptions made for holidays) and begin at
10:00 am. Information for upcoming meetings, includ-
ing time, location and program, is posted on our website
at: www.sequoiawoodturners.org
Sawdust SessionsIn addition to our regular meetings we also hold the
occasional “Sawdust Session”. When a particular subject
comes up that gets the attention of our club, we schedule
a session to get together and go over it in depth.

Freedom CanesEvery year club members of the Sequoia Woodturners
and Central California Wood Carvers turn and carve
eagle head walking canes for our veterans. These canes
are presented in front of family, friends and members
from both clubs. We thank the members of both clubs
for their participation in the Freedom Cane Program,
but most of all our gratitude goes out to the veterans for
their service.
