Web Assistant integration into the SAP SuccessFactors suite
SAP Enable Now customers can now
provide embedded performance
support and learning assets directly
within the SAP SuccessFactors suite
to deliver essential information directly
within the workflow. This allows to
increase productivity for SAP
SuccessFactors users and helps to
reduce associated help and support
costs.
Just like in the existing Web Assistant
integration within SAP S/4HANA,
there are three major modalities to
provide help: context help, process
guidance and learning content.

Web Assistant 2/3
Any Web Assistant content delivered as default can now
easily be customized for both SAP S/4HANA
on-premises and cloud.
With respective edit permissions, the author can set the
Web Assistant into edit mode. This will enable them to
customize the context help tile or bubble text. Guided
tours can be edited the same way. Of course any
customer can add new tiles for context help and new
guided tours.
Edit content for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Staged Publishing
Newly created or modified Web Assistant content can now
be explicitly published from within the Web Assistant
interface within the target application.
This allows to provide a more sophisticated content
authoring workflow where authors or content QA can
decide when the content is ready for end user
consumption. Additionally, the author can switch between
a published (end user perspective) view and a view that
shows the latest working state that is not yet published.

Web Assistant 3/3
The color scheme of the Web
Assistant interface can be
customized to adapt the look and
feel of the Web Assistant according
to the respective corporate identity
requirements.
Customizable look New UI languages
The Web Assistant user interface
now also supports Korean and
Norwegian as UI language.
The what´s new mode can now be
shown without having the need to
create standard content for the
particular context first.
Furthermore, what’s new content
can be edited directly even without
having standard content.
To ensure that new content is
being displayed pro-actively, the
what´s new mode can now be
started directly when entering the
respective application page.
It is now possible to define a date
until the what´s new pop-up
message on top of the screen is
being shown.
Changes to
What´s New mode
Community link
For the Learning Center of Web
Assistant, a link to an external
learning community can be
configured. This will allow learners
to get in contact with other learners
and trainers – directly from within
the application interface.

Desktop Assistant
Desktop Assistant user can now
easily generate and share a high-
quality screencast video out of their
Desktop Assistant recording.
This will foster informal knowledge
transfer with the user generated
content methodology.
Screencast Videos Interactive guided Tour
Existing simulation content can now
directly be converted into an
interactive guided tour, allowing the
usage of Performance Support for
all applications. In addition this will
work now for quick recording based
projects, too. Hence it´s now easier
than ever before to include subject
matter experts in the creation of
Performance Support projects.
The Desktop Assistant has
become a new dedicated entity
type, coming with it´s own icon in
order to separate it from other
group elements. This will ensure
Desktop Assistant content will be
easier to find, making the whole
content structure clearer.

Knowledge Content Management
Reference View
The ability to create a redundancy free content structure is key to
ensure lowest possible content creation and maintenance efforts. SAP
Enable Now is using references to achieve this. To improve the
possibilities to keep track of references even in very large scale content
projects, SAP Enable Now offers authors a new, unique view on the
available content – the Reference view.
Available within the Producer interface, the project explorer now
features the new Reference View, providing a perfect overview on
references and other dependencies of any selected content entity. In
addition, the references of resources that are used for the content are
shown, which allows, for example, verification of which bubble style is
used in projects.

Knowledge Content Management
To improve the ability for authors and master authors
to compare knowledge objects, the object properties
are now shown for selected objects in both tree views.
In this way, knowledge objects and their parameters
can be compared easily by using the second tree, for
example, for consistency reasons
Project Explorer – Double Tree View Preview for Insert Object
To improve usability when inserting objects such as
images or book pages, a preview is shown directly
in the insert dialog. In addition, further attributes
such as images size, resolution, last modified date,
or original file name are shown within the preview
section.
Learning ContentCreate learning content and add versatile didactical elements to the overall learning experience to help ensure the
success of your learning projects.

General changes
The new Blue Ocean and White Island bubbles provide
a modern style to optimize the look and feel of your
learning content and the user experience. White Island
is the new default bubble style that is applied to all new
content.
New bubbles Responsive Document
The new Hands-On Guide document comes with a
contemporary look & feel and is responsive, which
allows usage on all mobile devices.
To provide an improved overview, all other steps will be
collapsed automatically.

processes designed with the business process
management (BPM) tool of Signavio. This web-based
software enables process & decision management to
improve the organizations operations.

learning tutorials for SAP SuccessFactors. These tutorials have been created by
SAP professionals based on best practices and are a proven set of well described
pre-configured business content, reflecting the experiences and learnings from
real-life implementations. Customers can use these contextualized tutorials as part
of Web Assistant, as-is or as a basis for customized materials to meet their own
business requirements.
In the first phase the tutorials are delivered in English for:
• End-users for Employee Central, Employee Service Center, Recruiting,
Performance & Goals, Succession & Development, Compensation and Payroll
• Admin users for Learning

Web Assistant - Extensibility & Content Maintenance
In addition to the Web Assistant contextual help
content, the Learning App offers getting started
tutorials and onboarding content which are provided
by free of charge for SAP applications as such as SAP
S/4HANA.
To allow the seamless customization and
enhancement of the Learning App tutorials, the
learning content coming from SAP can now be easily
synchronized within the SAP Enable Now Manager
Edit Learning App content Mass Changes of Context Information
To simplify the update process for content in the case of
new versions of the target applications, it is now possible
to maintain the Web Assistant context parameters product
name and product version via mass change easily.
More values can be added to the corresponding
parameters; existing ones can also be deleted, or all
values can be overwritten with new ones.
In addition, Web Assistant context parameters can be
maintained for new learning app content.

Web Assistant - Language Support & Editing Improvements
The user interface of Web Assistant
now supports the following
additional UI languages:
• Finnish
• Bulgarian
• Greek
• Croatian
• Romanian
• Swedish
• Czech
• Turkish
New UI languages
Various enhancements have been made to improve usability for Web
Assistant authoring:
• Tour bubbles are now automatically centered when not assigned to a
hotspot, hence it is no longer possible that a bubble is not displayed
when a tour is played
• New tour- and context help tiles are added to the end of the carousel
to avoid having to scroll within the carousel
• The spike of a tour bubble now points directly to the click position
that was chosen when the hotspot was assigned so authors can see
the position of the bubble as an end user would see it
• During editing authors can use a hotkey to start the hotspot
assignment directly
• The text editor was enlarged to make editing more convenient
• Multi page support has been added to support guided tours over
multiple pages in some applications as SAP SuccessFactors
Editing Usability

Web Assistant & Desktop Assistant
To prevent a Web Assistant bubble
from covering up an important area
of the application page, the bubble
orientation can be changed easily.
Bubble Orientation What's New Mode
If the only content available for an
application page is in the What's

automatically started when the user
activates the Web Assistant by

Changed cache path
To better support Citrix systems
and other virtual environments, the
standard cache path was changed
to %LOCALAPPDATA%.
This means that the cache data no
longer has to be transferred with
the roaming profile each time the
user logs in or out.
It is still possible to change the
cache path in the Producer settings
to allow for the requirements of the
respective infrastructure.

Remote Workarea for geo-balancing
In companies with offices all over the world it is often necessary to provide a
seamless and performant access to learning content for all learners,
independent from where they are trying to access the content.
This can now be assured by using the new remote workarea functionality: any
Manager can now be connected with other Manager installations to mirror
content from one Manager to all other connected Managers. This allows to
provide geo-balanced content access, so the system will offer content from the
nearest server for best performance and user experience.
Please note: This feature is not available for SQL-based installations and
requires multiple Manager / Cloud instances.

PublishingCollapse Assets
To optimize the overview
within project explorer, you
can use this new option to
collapse all assets of the
content with one click - so
only the objects themselves
are visible.
For a better overview and
clear structuring, the roles,
as well as the resources
displayed in the project
explorer, are now also
sorted alphabetically in the
Manager
In the checkout dialog of the
Producer, the new search
function allows authors to
find learning content more
quickly when fetching
content from the Manager.
Housekeeping
Before the execution of
server housekeeping, you
can use the preview feature
to exactly capture the users
who should be deleted, by
displaying them in a list
including their authentication
name.
Delete Must-
HavesAuthors trying to delete an
object marked as “must-

about the “must have” status
and that the object cannot be
deleted due to this.
To help authors work more
efficiently when adding
comments to content, the
recently written comments
can be called up and used
again.
To streamline the usability
of SAP Enable Now, the
standard resources (like
bubble styles) are
automatically published
after the initial creation of
a workarea.
Learning ContentCreate learning content and add versatile didactical elements to the overall learning experience to help ensure the
success of your learning projects.

Content Authoring
With the brand new anonymization feature authors can
now select two ways to anonymize parts of recorded
screens: either by pixelation and by blurring the
selected area. Both options can be set independently
of each other and enable you to achieve the required
anonymization result. In addition the functionality can
now be started directly via a button above the macro
editor of a selected screenshot.
Anonymize Screen Area ReRecording – Zoom in Preview
In the step preview, which is
displayed during rerecording when
the recording is manually or
automatically stopped, now contains
a zoom functionality that makes it
easier to find the correct application
page or the corresponding control.
Automatic adding of start & end element
When a project is closed in the Producer,
SAP Enable Now checks whether the simulation
start- and end elements are available. If one of
the elements is missing, it will automatically be
added and a corresponding hint is displayed. Goal
is to ensure that simulation- und quiz projects can
be played back correctly at any time.
49© 2017 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved.
Content Authoring
Authors can now use the option replace content to
copy the content of a new recording into an existing
simulation. The new content will be reused with the
existing UID of the target content, and all existing
references and links retain their validity. This new
functionality significantly eases the maintenance of
content in large content structures.
Replace Content Block video downloads
A new option enables authors to remove
the possibility to download embedded
videos from SAP Enable Now content. If
the option hide download button is
activated, the control for downloading the
video is not displayed when the book
page is played back.
Application Profiles
To improve the recognition and re-
recognition of applications, the following
application profiles have been
added/updated:
- SAP Concur (new)
- MS Office 365 Online (new)
Integration + System Landscape SupportGet SAP Enable Now up and running in no time and improve application landscape support for a wide range

Solution Manager Integration
When checking out structures from SAP Solution
Manager, scopes – process structure filters that are
created in SAP Solution Manager - can now also be
chosen to import selected parts of a business process
only. This allows to work on process subareas more
independently and therefore improved work distribution
among multiple authors easily.
SAP Solution Manager Scopes SAP Solution Manager Content Mapping
SAP Enable Now content types (e.g. simulation modes,
documentation variants) can now be assigned to specific
SAP Solution Manager document types (e.g. test
document, configuration guide). By doing so, the SAP
Enable Now content will appear automatically in the best
suited area within the solution manager documentation,
significantly simplifying the synchronization process and
increasing the synergy effect between the two solutions.

System Landscape / Compliance / SCORM
Server System Landscape Optional consent request (GDPR)
If the consent declaration is already covered by other
systems in a customer landscape, it can be optionally
deactivated for SAP Enable Now. All other functions
regarding compliance with the General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR), such as deletion and
providing saved user data, are unchanged.
The SAP Enable Now server component
“Manager” now supports the following
infrastructures:
- Tomcat 9
- Microsoft SQL 2016
- Microsoft Server 2016
Persistent SCORM IDs
When publishing SCORM content, the new Persistent
Organization IDs option ensures that organization- and
element IDs for the exported content remain the same.
As a result, the LMS won´t perceive the updated content
as new so it can easily be imported to overwrite earlier
content versions in the LMS without extra effort.
