CHILDSPLAY LEVEL 1
ADULT COURSES
AVAILABLE AT ROUNDABOUT CC
MOVING ON
Moving On starts Monday 9th September (see flyer in newsletter)
It is a very popular course. People attending in the past have always enjoyed it.
Below is a personal testimonial from one of our parents below:
10 WEEK MOVING ON COURSE at Roundabout Children’s Centre
After having my fourth baby I felt very lost, apart from being a mum I had lost
all direction and had forgotten all about myself and who I really am. The moving
on course really helped me find me again. I found out lots of things that I had
forgotten about myself and strengths I have. It helped me find my confidence
and to know that I can achieve things that I want if I take little steps.
I learnt something new or maybe something I had forgotten about myself every
week and I feel a lot more positive about my future. The people were really
friendly and made me feel safe and comfortable. I found Rosetta really easy to
talk to, she didn't judge anyone just offered her helping hand. I would
recommend this course to anyone that may just be a little lost.
Thanks everyone who helped me find me again.

VOLUNTEERING
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION BREAKFAST
WEDNESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 9.30-11.30
At Roundabout Children’s Centre we have a number of volunteers who help us out in a
variety of positions. They are a valuable asset to our centre and we hope they are all
enjoying and benefiting from this experience as well.
We are holding this volunteer breakfast for any people who maybe interested in vol-
unteering at the Children’s Centre in the future. Mums, Dads and Grandparents are
all welcome.
All our present volunteers will be invited so there will be an opportunity to meet with
them as well as finding out what volunteering positions are available at the centre.
The Family Information Service (FIS) can support you with advice and help on
a wide range of issues including:
• Finances and debt
• Fuel bills
• Benefits
• Childcare
• School applications
And much more!
A FIS Adviser can see you by appointment at the Children’s Centre and talk
through your issues with you and offer you the most appropriate help. If you would
like to make an appointment, speak to your Health Visitor or Early Years Visitor
who will refer you to the FIS.
Alternatively, you can call the FIS on (01273) 293545.

GROUPS
BRISTOL ESTATE PARENT TODDLER GROUP
This group started in April 2013 at the Community Room, Donald Hall Road, Bristol
Estate. It runs on Tuesdays, 10.00—12noon.
The group has been set up as a Volunteer Parent led group and at the present is
being supported by Claire a Community Development Worker and Janet the Parent
Involvement worker from Roundabout Children’s Centre. We would welcome any
Volunteers interested in helping out at the group (DBS, Criminal Record Checks will
be paid for by the Community Development team)
It is a lovely place for a group with a small outside garden for the children to enjoy.
The morning session consists of art and craft activities, free play with a snack and
singing time each session.
We have a good selection of toys and would always welcome donations of good quality
children’s books and toys for ages 0-5. Please take any toys that you can donate to a
group. Thank you.
The group will be open throughout the summer holidays.
