D ear Community of St. Augustine,
The Lord is risen! Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Easter Sunday fills us with joy and hope. We celebrate the central
mystery and the truth of our faith: the risen Christ gives us new life, true life, life in abundance, eternal life.
The Gospel of Saint John 20: 1-9 tells us who were the first witnesses of this news. Mary Magdalene, Peter and John ran to the tomb and from there to the whole world to proclaim that Christ had risen. Like the first disciples, we, too are witnesses of this truth. Let us proclaim to the world the wondrous deeds Jesus continues to do in our lives and in our community.
On the Easter Vigil Our Catholic (Universal) Church welcomed those who received the Sacraments of Christian Initiation – Baptism, Confirmation and Communion. Let us thank God for our Neophyte, (newly baptized) Mithu Ghosh Deb; she is the new member of our Community. I want to thank her catechists and her sponsor for accompany her in this process. Let us continue to pray for her that the journey of faith she has started be a lifelong journey.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the youth group who organized the Living Stations of the Cross, to Iliani Perez, our youth minister, and to all the volunteers who helped them.
I also want to thank ALL who, one way or another, contributed to make possible that our Holy Week celebrations were to give honor and glory to the One and True God. To the Liturgical Ministers, the volunteers who helped to prepare and decorate our temple and the Holy Thursday Monument, to our office staff, the deacons, the Knights of Columbus who directed the traffic, and to all of you who are the St. Augustine Community, a big and heartfelt THANK YOU!!
May the Risen Christ be for each of us a sign of hope and peace.
Happy Easter!
Q uerida Comunidad de San Agustín,
¡Resucitó el Señor! ¡Aleluya, Aleluya!

the things above rather than on things of earth.” We, too, have been raised with Christ. Let us rejoice and be glad!
