Internal Medicine Program Director: Mark Smalley, DO Positions Available Per Year: sixLakeland offers a traditional Internal Medicine track which emphasizes inpatient care and may be used to prepare for practice as an internist/hospitalist or for subspecialty residency or fellowship training. Our health system offers 24/7 hospitalist services, as well as internal medicine primary care sites. The internal medicine resident can expect a well-rounded experience seeing a variety of patients and pathology.
Dermatology Program Director: Mark Kuriata, DO, FAOCD Positions Available Per Year: oneThe Lakeland Dermatology Residency incorporates the most advanced and up-to-date basic medical science in a clinical setting that allows for optimal educational development over the course of training in the field of dermatology. The program will thoroughly prepare trainees for the board-certification examination as administered by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD). Fourth year student rotations are accepted between January and May of each year.
Geriatric Fellowship Program Director: Keith VanOosterhout, MD Assistant Program Director: Douglas Tacket, DOThe Lakeland Geriatric Fellowship is structured to provide an educational program in geriatric medicine, with a sufficient level of training and experience, to produce Osteopathic family medicine physicians with the competence and added qualifications in the field of geriatric medicine, leading to board certification.
