SmartPlant Licensing

SmartPlant Materials and SmartPlant Reference Data Release Bulletin 2008 (6.3.1) 7

SmartPlant Licensing SmartPlant License Manager now controls SmartPlant Reference Data product purchased and leased licenses. The procedures are fully explained in the SmartPlant Licensing Installation and User’s Guide, delivered with the product. Customers can split their purchased seats among their databases as they want. After initial setup, customers can generate their own new keys after migration and installation. This gives the customer more flexibility in distributing their own licenses by being independent from Intergraph.

Procedure Example without SmartPlant Licensing 1. Buy 10 licenses of SmartPlant Reference Data and receive a license key for one

database with 10 seats of SmartPlant Reference Data for this database environment.

2. Later, you need a second database environment and want to split the licenses into 5/5. You request Intergraph to make the change, and you receive 2 license keys to install the 2 keys on two databases where each of the keys has 5 seats.

Procedure Example with SmartPlant Licensing

1. Buy 10 licenses of SmartPlant Reference Data and receive a license key for SmartPlant License Manager that allows 10 seats of SmartPlant Reference Data. This license key will be installed into SmartPlant License Manager.

2. If SmartPlant Reference Data does not have a valid license key, it communicates with SmartPlant License Manager to request a customer-specific number of seats, for example, 10 seats.

3. Later, you need a second database environment and want to split the licenses into 5/5.

4. From the existing installation of SmartPlant Reference Data, you give back 5 seats to SmartPlant License Manager. After that, the second new database can request a license key for these 5 seats.

Current Restrictions

• Only works for SmartPlant Reference Data/SmartPlant Materials license model.

• Request for license key only works from the traditional forms login screen and not from the .NET login screen.

SmartPlant Reference Data Changes in S.30.R.01 Report

• The Commodity Group was added.

• The sorting of the report was revised from group_id to group_code and from part_id to part_code.

• The format of the report was change to have a “spreadsheet look.”

Spec Filter on Item Level Consider Output 1 - 8. (CR-MA5521)

For creating Idents via S.50.06, the system will now also consider the Output Column 1 to 8 for filtering. Before, it used only the Input columns. This can be helpful in case the Idents are not unique via Input 1 to 5.

BOM Information Must be Unique in the Excel File

• This functionality removes the redundant columns like ‘BOM Node’, ‘BOM path’ etc in the BOM Multi-Positions Excel Import/Export Template. A single worksheet ‘MPV’ in the new template replaces the existing two worksheet ‘Positions’ and ‘Node_Info’ in the existing template.

• Users should keep in mind the following points in order to use the Excel BOM Import/Export functionality for Multi-Positions. • The existing Excel template for BOM Multi-Positions import and

export is no longer valid for BOM import or export. • The user should replace the existing Excel template for BOM Multi-

Positions import and export with the new one introduced with this functionality, located in the standard SmartPlant Materials ‘Download folder’.

• The user should first take a BOM download using this new template and then modify/change data in order to import it back into BOM.

Tracking Inconsistent Inventory QTYs (V3363)

For easier tracking of quantity inconsistencies in the inventory, the internal handling of reservations has been changed. With respect to customer written screens or reports, you should know that field m_inv_items.resv_qty is split in fields resv_qty, man_resv_qty and int_resv_qty.

Field resv_qty is used for reservations done by a reservation run; man_resv_qty is used for additional manual reservations for a reservation run; and field int_resv_qty is used for internal reservations when creating MIRs not based on a reservation run or when increasing on a MIR the quantity reserved by a reservation run.

Mean to Remove TAGNUMBER in C.20.23.01 (V3412)

Check box 'Remove Tag Number' has been added to screen C.20.23.01 MIR by Direct Issue. This check box is only available for material issue reports of type 'Corporate Warehouse'.

If this indicator is checked, the tag number will be removed for the corporate warehouse from the issues when posting the MIR.

This is required because the Tag Number might only have a meaning in the project where it was coming from. If posting to the Corporate Warehouse, the ‘new’ project might have no use of this specific Tag Number.

This check box can only be set or reset for revision 0. All higher revisions must take over the setting of revision 0.

With the new project defaults ZP_CORPPRJ and ZP_CORP_WH, you can restrict the use of the corporate warehouse.

If these two project defaults are not set, you can dispose of all material that has been posted to the corporate warehouse.

If these project defaults are set, only the material is available that matches the values of these defaults.

If you wish, you can just set project default ZP_CORPPRJ. But you should not set ZP_CORP_WH without setting ZP_CORPPRJ.

LOV on MRR Number in C.20.09.06 Header OSDs (CR-MA3654) A LOV is now provided for field 'MRR Number' in screen C.20.09.06 Header OSDs.

The records in the second block (item shipments) are now ordered by 'Pos', 'Sub', 'IS Pos' and 'IS Sub'.

Access C.20.15.01 Transferred Heat Numbers from C.20.15 via FASTCALL (CR-MA3964)

In screen C.20.17 Physical Count Sheets you can now call the new screen C.20.17.01 Physical Count Heat Numbers via FASTCALL.

The purpose of the new Screen C.20.17.01 Physical Count Heat Numbers is to handle additional information for heat numbers like quantity, certificate number, manufacturers and file locations concerning the physical inventory count in screen C.20.17.

More information is available in the Online Help for that specific screen.

“Caution” Message for Over Issues on All MIR-Screens (CR-MA4372)

An alert of type "Caution" was inserted. The alert will inform the user about over issues on the MIR.

Rename Item Shipments to Shipped Items (CR-MA-4466) Entry 'Item Shipments' in the drop-down list of field 'Allocate Level' in screen C.30.01 Forecast Run has been renamed to 'Shipped Items'.

Change Sort Order for Inventory History and Corporate Warehouse (CR-MA5579) In addition to the time stamp that was already included when ordering data in screens C.20.26 Inventory History and C.20.26.02 Corporate Warehouse History, the records are now also ordered in descending order by the internal primary key. This should make it easier to control the entries.

Deletion of Physical Inventory Count Sheets (CR-MA5676)

Entries in C.20.17 Physical Count sheets can now be deleted if they have not been posted.

Discipline Dependency in C.20.22.05 Removed (SI-MA5691)

The discipline dependency of screen C.20.22.05 Acceptable Substitutions has been removed. (SI-MA5691).

SITE API for Export/Import of SITE Relevant Data (V3138) The SmartPlant Materials SITE API is designed for data exchange of SITE data with external systems. The functionality is provided by the database package m_api_site. All necessary type and function definitions required by the user are accessible in the package specification (which is unwrapped).

The SITE API consists of an export and an import part. While the export part provides functions to get the data necessary for an external system to handle site functionality, the import part provides functions to transfer receiving and issuing data back to SmartPlant Materials.

For more information see DOC_SITE_API.PDF.

Integrator

22 SmartPlant Materials and SmartPlant Reference Data Release Bulletin 2008 (6.3.1)

Integrator Tuning the OPI (SI-MA5609) Significant tuning activities have been done on the Open Procurement Interface (OPI). In some cases, this can cause a performance increase from 6 minutes to 2 seconds per Purchase Order Line.

BOM Load from SmartPlant Isometric via SmartPlant Foundation This patch enhances the BOM import Interface. It provides a new Import Type 'Retrieve BOM from SP Isometrics. This new feature allows importing data retrieved from SmartPlant Foundation of type POD Documents published by SmartPlant Isometrics.

In addition, it is now possible to import more than one document with a single OMI job.

Note that it is a pre-requisite that SmartPlant Isometrics works with catalog data exported from SmartPlant Reference Data; otherwise, the BOM positions to be imported cannot be identified.

Details regarding this new integration are described in the ORL document name INT-SPIso_pdf.

Command Line Call for Bulkload In order to ease the usage of the SmartPlant Reference Data SmartPlant 3D catalog interface, it is now possible to execute the bulkload of catalog data directly from SmartPlant Reference Data.

The advantage is that SmartPlant 3D does not need to be installed on the client machine because SmartPlant Reference Data is used in order to bulk load the data.

Technically, the bulkload runs on the application server by means of command line call. The log file of the bulkload can be viewed from SmartPlant Reference Data.

Command Line Call for Verification Routine In order to optimize the work process for the SmartPlant Reference Data user, it is now possible to share the Verification Utility software between SmartPlant 3D and SmartPlant Reference Data.

This will avoid:

• Redundant checking routines

• SmartPlant 3D does not need to be installed on the client machine because SmartPlant Reference Data is used in order to run the verification utility

Technically, the verification routine runs on the application server by means of command line call. The Verification routine creates an XLS spreadsheet, which can be viewed from the SmartPlant Reference Data Client.

In order to run the Verification Job, after the bulkload, a new entry in the list for Job goals was added:
