Our conclusions (1/2) Ideas for RECOMMEND Pilot actions
New proposal – creation of new section “Showcase” under www.recommendproject.eu website – to publish the activities and products that partner regions already have in the framework of Eco-innovation and Eco-management. To inform about the eco-innovation services and products that come from PPs territories.
Interest to share unique and important experience with other project partners - creation of the “Energy District” in Ascoli Piceno. It will unite 440 companies that use and also produce green energy, that employ 3500 people and have 600 million turnover.
Interest in good practices is very high –not in the entire procedures, but in some aspects of them, especially, those that avoid long bureaucratic path (Austria (Niederösterreich) – Ökomanagement Niederösterreich Eco-Management Vouchers).
Offers to use PEAP- Provincial Energy and Environment Plan (it has to be ready by the end of this year) as a base to develop relevant instruments for RECOMMEND. Providing wide amount of information as base for RIP (in the legislative and normative context, provincial energy analysis, specific studies, synthesis and proposals ect.), as this stakeholder is informed about existing situation and would be useful to give advices for the actions in RIP.
The region is very interested in learning from other PPs the mechanism - how to organize public competition avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy – the preparation of simpler forms, fast evaluation, verification ect. And supportive to the idea of Cluster.

Our conclusionsIdeas for RECOMMEND Pilot actions
Peterborough “Green Package”
Creation of a new scheme for companies in the city to sign up to that brings together eco-management and eco-innovation, building upon the “One Planet Living” concept. It is a ‘one stop shop’ for businesses to get information on where to buy green products, get support on EMSs, and on how they can develop greener products and services.
Peterborough Environmental Performance Programme
A new scheme that would see businesses in Peterborough paying business rates based on the environmental performance of their buildings (and/or operations through a credible EMS).
Do you need additional informationto continue your work?
The Peterborough Green Package was unanimously supported during the thematic talks and could be moved forward during the lifetime of the RECOMMEND project.
The Peterborough Environmental Performance Programme would not be achievable in the timescale of the project. However in order to progress this idea, a feasibility study would need to be carried out to assess its viability and economic impacts on the local authority.
Will you continue to cooperate with your stakeholders?
Yes, we would seek to include all partners in on-going discussions.
