Need-based aid process:
To be considered for federal loans, applicants should file FAFSA forms as soon as possible after January 1 to avoid delays. Both 2012-13 and 2013-14 FAFSAs are required due to our summer start.
Federal loans:
The Financial Aid Office at SU will notify you regarding your loan eligibility as soon as your information is received.
Typically, students are eligible for $10,250 in Stafford Loan funds for the summer and up to $20,500 for the academic year.
There are also Graduate Plus loans for which there is no maximum loan limit (annually or lifetime). Eligibility is calculated by the Cost of Attendance minus other financial aid and a basic credit check must be passed.
