Aims and Objective
This course is designed to prepare student for the IELTS (International English Language Testing
System). The course is skills-based and aims to help students develop the skills and strategies required to
improve their IELTS score.
• To familiarize students with the Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing Modules.
• To provide insight into strategies for achieving a successful score.
• To provide meaningful and practical opportunities for students to practice study skills.
• To instill in students a sense of confidence in attempting the test.
Intended Learning Outcomes of the Course
On completion of the course, students should be able to:
ILO 1. successfully complete the Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening tests in the IELTS
examination;
ILO 2. develop the necessary grammar relevant to a higher IELTS level;
ILO 3. develop the required vocabulary for common IELTS topics;
ILO 4. attain study skills and strategies to be successful in the IELTS exam;
ILO 5. encourage students to attain excellent learner habits by reviewing and evaluating their
work.
