Powered by Land Rover - Driven with Passion
Thank you very much for your interest in the Bowler EXR. This portfolio is about the all-new Range Rover Sport based FIA T1 spec rally car, developed and build by Drew Bowler. Drew Bowler founded Bowler Motorsport 28 years ago and has ever since committed himself to building highly competitive rally cars for amateurs. From the early “Tomcat” to the very successfull and international renowned “Wildcat” his cars have been raced across the globe winning top-10 positions in the Paris-Dakar and podiums in many other races. The Bowler Wildcat is today described as the most successful amateur rally car ever build. From the first experience with the independent suspension, Range Rover based “Nemesis”, Drew Bowler developed the “EXR”, which is based on the all-new Range Rover Sport and is fully FIA T3 compliant. In summer 2012 Land Rover announced it´s official partnership with Bowler Motorsport. This portfolio is dedicated to the Bowler “EXR” but will also introduce the road version “EXR-S” and present the FIA T2 spec training vehicle based on the Land Rover Defender

Some background informaon on Drew Bowler and Bowler Motorsport
The name Bowler immediately brings a smile to the face of extreme motorsport and rally enthusiasts, and is associated with extreme off-‐road fun and mind blowing performance. The Bowler Off Road company was founded by Drew Bowler, who originally designed the famous Bowler Tomcat and other Bowler models since 1984. Drew has been very involved with the famous Dakar Rally for many years, fellow competors were very impresses with his work and eventually asked him to build cars for them, that's when Bowler Offroad was born. In December 2007 the manufacturing rights to the Wildcat were sold by Bowler, allowing the company to focus on the producon of their latest model, the Bowler Nemesis. In late 2009 the concept of the road version of the Bowler Nemesis was revealed, the Nemesis EXR. Power comes from the Jaguar V8 4.4 or the 450 bhp 4.2 supercharged, Jaguar diesels are also an opon and is fast becoming very popular. The outstanding Jaguar 5.0 V8 engines are now also available with over 500bhp for owners to enjoy. 6 speed gearboxes are available, with either the synchro H gate or sequenal. The differenal opons are LSD or the Ricardo visco LSD with air locking. The Nemesis is the third racing model being produced by Bowler, and the EXR is the company's first road car. It looks a lot like a shorter version of the Range Rover Sport upon which its loosely based, but under the bonnet it's a totally different animal altogether. Even on the roughest terrain, the acceleraon is simply mind blowing. On tarmac it hits 100 km/h in under 5 seconds, that's supercar territory... The 22" wheels impress with a sporty look and outstanding grip, more than enough torque is available to launch this monster to insane speeds in only a few seconds. Other smaller changes on the gearbox, ensure opmized performance from the automac 6-‐speed. Top speed is around 225 km/h, but with some tweaking here and there it should comfortably go beyond the 270 km/h mark. It is, as Drew puts it, a usable supercar for those with the funds for the Lamborghinis and Ferraris but who find themselves using a Cayenne or X6M for the weekly toil. This car can go anywhere, anyme, and can do it seriously quickly. And if you ck the rally suspension box, then you'll get the ulmate Dakar Rally-‐bred dune jumping monster, a real-‐world Tonka Toy and the ulmate fast SUV. The Cayenne, X6M and Mercedes ML63 should be very afraid indeed. Nick Hall -‐ Motor Trend The Bowlers exceponal capabilies show the team’s commitment and high standards of design and engineering, this improves year aer year as experience is gained working in the compeve rally environment. A big step forward was the official cooperaon with Land Rover and subsequently the design and development opportunies that came with this cooperaon.

The Bowler EXR – One of very few road legal FIA spec rallye cars
Unlike the Bowler Nemesis the EXR is build onto the reinforced chassis of the Range Rover Sport. All models of the EXR come with the same roll cage.
The Range Rover V8 is posioned 16” further back to opmize the weight balance of the car. Almost 50/50 is achieved by these and other modificaons.
The Bowler EXR uses DONERRE rally shocks which are among the best suspension kits available for professional motorsport today.
The rear of the Bowler EXR is designed to accommodate 3 spare wheels, tools and emergency equipment. In the EXR-‐S only the lower spare wheel is carried.
Every Bowler, unl today, is hand build and assembled in the old family barn where Drew Bowler build his very first rally car more than 30 years ago.

Bowler Defender
The Bowler Defender
The new Land Rover Defender based rally car by Bowler is something that hasn´t been offered or build for a long me, a true, inexpensive, entry level rally car. Designed and built to ulize as many factory standard parts as possible, this MSA / FIA compliant offroader is assembled from factory new vehicles supplied by Land Rover. For the first me a FIA T2 spec rally car is available and it is going to change the game dramacally as there currently is not a single factory factory supported, entry level T2 car. Together with the customer these cars can be individualized to suit individual requirements, rally or street use, etc. The cars are available as 90” and 110” wheelbase and the engine tuning for the 2014 Defender Challenge is 175bhp. The Bowler Defender is also a great vehicle for drivers and navigators new to the sport of rally racing to gain experience and prepare themselves to race the Bowler EXR, though the Defender is ready to be raced in the FIM Worldcup or the Dakar in South America.

The Bowler Defender
From the moment you order your Bowler Defender it will take about 14 weeks to build your car. This results from the fact that factory new Defenders are used as base vehicles and the lead me for Bowler Motorsport to order and receive a customer-‐spec car, e.g. Belgium, France, Germany-‐spec) from the factory, takes about 8 weeks. Aer that your Defender is stripped at the workshop in Hazelwood and then rebuild to your specificaons. Kits Apart from the fully equipped Challenge Defender you may also order parts and different kits in case you already have a rallye spec Defender and would like to improve it or just want the Bowler products on your daily driver. Not all parts of the Challenge Defender are available as kits but please don´t hessitate to contact us or our representaves in Belgium and Germany.
APPENDIX I
LAND ROVER AND BOWLER SIGN FORMAL BRAND PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT Whitley, 21 June 2012. Land Rover and Bowler, the UK-‐based manufacturer of all-‐terrain performance cars and rally raid vehicles, have agreed to a brand partnership, formalising a relaonship that has been in place for over a decade. This new partnership will enable Land Rover and Bowler to realise even greater value from their relaonship. Under the agreement, “Powered by Land Rover” badging on Bowler’s compeon cars and across its markeng materials acknowledges the role that Land Rover technology plays in the performance and race success of Bowler products. The “Powered by Land Rover” branding will also be highlighted in joint event and promoonal acvies. Bowler will benefit from access to components – powertrain and chassis engineering in parcular – and technical and development support from Land Rover. In addion, the agreement provides a secured piece of ongoing parts business and allows Land Rover’s engineers to stretch themselves creavely and technically on an extreme performance-‐orientated programme that brings further knowledge to the core road-‐going Land Rover range. From its first compeon vehicle of the mid-‐1980s, Bowler has based its racers on Land Rover technology. The company’s latest models – the EXR rally raid compeon car and the road-‐going EXR S – both use modified engines, chassis and other components from the Range Rover Sport. Mark Cameron, Land Rover Brand Experience Director, Global Markeng, said: “Bowler vehicles demonstrate the kind of performance, ride, handling and chassis dynamics that a vehicle powered by Land Rover is capable of when taken to the extreme and liberated of most praccal constraints. “For over twenty years, Land Rover’s technology has powered Bowlers on some of the toughest and most gruelling off-‐road sporng events in the world. We’re proud to have been part of Bowler’s success and, just as its latest models come to market, this new formal partnership will fully acknowledge the role of Land Rover technology in Bowler’s high performance all terrain cars.” Drew Bowler, Managing Director of Bowler, said: “It is Land Rover’s support as well as its technology that has helped Bowler to gain an incredibly strong reputaon for extreme off-‐road performance over the last two decades. And as we embark on a new era for the business – introducing our first model engineered for use outside compeon racing – I’m very pleased that the relaonship has been formalised. “With the extra confidence that comes from this brand partnership, I look forward to working with Land Rover to ensure that both pares realise the full potenal of our collaboraon. With bold and ambious plans, I’m sure that there are excing mes ahead in which both pares will enjoy posive benefits for our respecve brands.” Bowler EXR and EXR S Bowler pioneered rally raid cars in the UK and is a global market leader in the producon of racing and all-‐terrain performance vehicles, all of which are Powered by Land Rover. Following in the footsteps of its predecessors – the Bowler Wildcat (produced from 1997 to 2007) and Nemesis (2006-‐2011) – the new EXR was designed, developed and produced to compete in the world’s toughest rally raid events, including the Dakar Rally, the Silk Way Rally and those that comprise the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. These off-‐road events last between three and 15 days, with up to 900 kilometres covered each day. Several generaons of Bowler models, including the latest EXR model, will be compeng in the Rally Reykjavik (Iceland) in September and will be supported during the event by Bowler’s factory service crew. The Bowler EXR rally-‐raid compeon car – on sale from £145,000 plus local taxes – fully conforms to FIA T1 specificaons. It uses a modified version of the naturally-‐aspirated 5.0-‐litre V8 Range Rover Sport petrol engine, which is restricted to 300 bhp maximum power and 582 Nm maximum torque in line with FIA restricons. The EXR is fied with a six-‐speed manual gearbox and Ricardo front, centre and rear differenals. Building on the brand’s strong heritage, the new Bowler EXR S is the first Bowler engineered for road use. It shares the EXR’s hydroformed base chassis (with the engine moved 300mm rearward) and various switchgear, light clusters and grilles, all from the Range Rover Sport. The EXR S also shares the same strong and lightweight composite body panels with its compeon-‐bred stablemate. The Bowler EXR S is fied with a modified version of the Range Rover Sport’s supercharged 5.0-‐litre V8 producing 550 bhp and 705 Nm. With such power and torque available in a package as light as 1800 kg, accelerang to 60 mph takes just 4.2 seconds and top speed is limited to 155 mph. The EXR S boasts the six-‐speed ZF automac transmission and E-‐diff from the Range Rover Sport 5.0-‐litre V8 Supercharged. The Bowler EXR S Powered by Land Rover is priced from £155,000 plus local taxes and will make its internaonal debut at the Goodwood Fesval of Speed (28 June-‐1 July), where it will be on display at the Bowler Off-‐Road Acvies Field. Connuing the strategic partnership announced in 2012 between Land Rover and Bowler Motorsport, the Defender Challenge will see race-‐prepped Land Rover Defenders being used in a one-‐make, seven round, mul disciplined rally series taking place across the UK. The series will be regulated by the MSA (Motor Sports Associaon) and each Defender Challenge car will be FIA (Fédéraon Internaonale de l’Automobile) compliant enabling competors to compete internaonally in events such as the Dakar. The Defender Challenge will provide both experienced racers, and those with no prior experience, a plaorm to gain the familiarity required to compete in world-‐class rally-‐raid events. For those with no or lile experience, the series will offer a complete soluon for gaining a compeon licence, driver training and development and ulmately, compeon experience. The Defender Challenge car is a modified Defender 90 Hard Top ulising the factory-‐standard 2.2 litre diesel engine which has been uprated to 170 bhp by Bowler Motorsport. All Defender Challenge cars will run the standard 6-‐speed manual gearbox, controlled Kuhmo tyres and full MSA-‐approved roll cage and fire exnguisher system. Further aiding the accessibility of the series, all cars will remain road-‐legal and can be driven to events if required. The provisional rounds outlined for the series will provide a mix of geographical accessibility together with excing and demanding racing. To be confirmed in January 2014, the provisional events are: Early March Mid Wales Stages Newtown, Wales Mid April Somerset Stages Minehead, Somerset Early June Dukeries Rally Southwell, Nonghamshire Mid July Welsh Hill Rally Walters Arena, Swansea Early September Woodpecker Stages Ludlow, Shropshire Early October Sunseeker Rallye Poole, Dorset Mid November Scosh Hill Rally Dumfries, Scotland Addionally, the Defender Challenge will provide a training and test day for entrants in February and various opportunies to experience desert driving in North Africa and the Middle East. Mark Cameron, Brand Extension Director, Land Rover said: “Land Rover is delighted to be supporng Bowler with the Defender Challenge in what is the next step in our long-‐term strategic partnership. “The Defender Challenge by Bowler rally series will push the iconic Defender’s breadth of capability beyond established boundaries – it is the ideal accessible plaorm to provide customers with an entry-‐level rally-‐raid series who are considering entering world-‐stage rally-‐raids such as the Dakar.” Drew Bowler, MD, Bowler Motorsport said: “Rally customers coming to Bowler have changed -‐ they're not all experienced racers, but people looking for excitement and adventure, and an achievable path towards the world class events such as the Dakar. We're delighted to be offering this path in partnership with Land Rover and the MSA, and believe the format offers a new way to experience different rally disciplines in the UK and overseas, and prepare entrants for the rigours and realies of Rally Raid. We've really enjoyed developing the Defender Challenge car -‐ it'll be a great fun championship.” Xavier Gavory, Head of Competors department – Sporng Co-‐ordinator -‐ for the ASO (Amaury Sport Organisaon), the governing body for the annual Dakar rally said: “One of the major obstacles for people from the UK wishing to enter the Dakar has always been obtaining the necessary compeon experience and race license. With Bowler’s iniave there is at last a turnkey soluon to that problem. Thanks to Bowler’s huge experience of compeng on the Dakar and their widely recognised professionalism we are confident we will be welcoming the first graduates of their Defender Challenge on our rally in the very near future. The Defender Challenge car will retail at €62,500.00 plus VAT and be supplied exclusively through Bowler Motorsport.
