Position Summary
The plant records intern will work under the supervision of the grounds manager of Whiting Forest and the
curator of the Dow Gardens to inventory the natural environment of Whiting Forest using ESII and assist in the
labeling of plants throughout the Dow Gardens / Whiting Forest property.
This is a minimum 14-week, paid internship. Housing is available if needed.
Qualifications
• Junior or senior in a program of horticulture, plant science, natural resources, or related field of study.
• Plant identification skills and understanding of plant nomenclature.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft O�ce Suite and data entry. Experience with mapping software a plus.
• Understands appropriate presentation and interaction with the public.
• The ability to perform manual labor under varying weather conditions is required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be self-motivated and enjoy working alone, as well as with a crew.
