pro2ess using heat. ,erographi2 offi2e photo2opying ;as introdu2ed by ero?* in the 0E$%s*
and over the follo;ing /% years it gradually repla2ed 2opies made by Verifa?* Photostat* 2arbon
2opy mimeograph ma2hines* and other dupli2ating ma2hine. 1he prevalen2e of its use is one of
the fa2tors that prevented the development of the paperless offi2e heralded early in the digital
revolution Photo2opying is ;idely used in business* edu2ation* and government. 1here have been
many predi2tions that photo2opiers ;ill eventually be2ome obsolete as information ;or6ers
2ontinue to in2rease their digital do2ument 2reation and distribution* and rely less on distributing
