DISMANTLING INSTRUCTIONS
Dismantling of the Cassette Cover
1) Loosen 4 screws to remove the Cover Top (pos 255) of theset.
2) Loosen 3 screws to remove the Panel Left (pos 253) and3 screws to remove the Panel Right (pos 254) of the set.
3) Slide out the CDC Tray as shown in the diagram below withthe help of a flat head screw driver.

4) Remove the Cover Tray VCD (pos 106) as indicated.

5) Loosen 2 screws A and 2 screws B to remove the CDCModule (pos 1105) as indicated.
6) Remove 2 screws (pos 226) at the bottom to separate theFront Panel Assembly from the Plate Bottom (pos 265).

1) Remove 4 screws P to remove the MPEG shield & MPEGBoard.
2) Remove 2 screws M and uncatch C3 with a flat screw-driver in the direction as shown to loosen the PlateInsulator.

1) Remove 6 screws G as indicated to loosen the ETF TapeModule (pos 1104).

1) Remove 1 screw C as indicated to loosen the VCD GNDIsolator Board (pos 1109).
2) Remove 1 screw C1 as indicated to loosen the HeadphoneBoard (pos 1101-B).
3) Remove 5 screws D as indicated to loosen the FrontDisplay Board (pos 1101-A).
4) Remove 9 screws E as indicated to loosen the FrontControl Board (pos 1107-A).
5) Remove 1 screw F as indicated to loosen the IR-EyeBoard (pos 1107-D).
6) Remove 3 screws N as indicated to loosen the VU MeterBoard (pos 1107-C).
1) The Knob Volume Rotary (pos 117) can be remove byinserting a strong string into the slot and pull it out in thedirection as indicated. See picture 1.
2) The Knob Jog Rotary (pos 140) can be remove byinserting a strong string into the slot and pull it out in thedirection as indicated. See picture 2.

1) Remove 1 screw J and uncatch M1 as indicated to loosenthe AF Board (pos 1102-A).
2) Remove 1 screw R as indicated to loosen the Video OutCinch Board (pos V1102-B).
3) Remove 3 screws K and uncatch M2 as indicated toloosen the Tuner Board (pos 1103).
4) Remove 4 screws L as indicated to loosen the PanelRear (pos 256).

Repair Hints
3) During repair it is possible to disconnect the Tuner Board(pos 1103) and CDC & MPEG Module (pos 1105) unlessthe fault is suspected to be in that area. This will not affectthe performance of the rest of the set.
4) Due to the short flex cable wires in the ETF Module, thepc board should be disconnected and reconnected onthe reverse side of the tape mechanism to keep itelectrically connected during repair. See picture 3.
Note: The flex cables are very fragile, care should be takennot to damage them during repair. After repair, bevery sure that the flex cables are inserted properlyinto the flex sockets before encasing, otherwise faultsmay occurs.
