Carole started by blocking in base
colours using a roller to get rid of
the white canvas.
These colours are often changed
during the painting process.
"Perfect Day"
Step One
![Page 3: Perfect day by Carole Elliott Artist](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022022414/587341f61a28abf21b8b7385/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Carole blocked in the dark areas of
the underwater rocks.
She then started work on the top
water and waves.
Step Two
![Page 4: Perfect day by Carole Elliott Artist](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022022414/587341f61a28abf21b8b7385/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Carole continued working on the top
water and waves, extending the
white water down further.
Step Three
![Page 5: Perfect day by Carole Elliott Artist](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022022414/587341f61a28abf21b8b7385/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Carole painted lighter highlights on
the top water and waves.
She then decided to change the
colour of the water in the bottom
section and worked on the rocks.
Step Four
![Page 6: Perfect day by Carole Elliott Artist](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022022414/587341f61a28abf21b8b7385/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Oops! Carole got carried away
painting and forget to take the photos!
She painted highlights on the middle
and foreground areas, completed
the foreground rocks and then painted
the final highlights
Of course it wasn't finished until it was
signed and sealed!

Seven
