PAXIS:
Eligibility criteria to become a member of a
thematic network
• Submit a proposal during an open call for proposals
• Fulfil the criteria of excellence based on several statistical indicators and conditions (GDP per head, R&D expenditures, infrastructure, etc.)
• Present an appropriate work programme
PAXIS:
Award of Excellence for innovative regions
• Selected regions / cities receive the award of excellence
• Award ceremony, part of the European Forum
PAXIS:
European Forum for innovative enterprises
• Around 500 participants
• High political representatives like EC Commissioner, ministers, mayors of European cities and presidents of regions
• Speakers from the academic and business world
PAXIS:
• 1st Forum: Vienna, 1998: Idea of PAXIS was born
• 2nd Forum: Lyon, 2000: 15 European regions / cities received “Award of Excellence”
• 3rd Forum: Stockholm, 2002: 22 European regions received “Award of Excellence” in the presence of the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria

• Validate and disseminate concepts to enhance the creation and development of innovative start-ups
• Test the transferability to other contexts

• 2 Types of projects:
A) Transfer of existing successful models to candidate countries
B) Development and implementation of new concepts
PAXIS:
Cross-border projects
• Transfer projects:Identification of existing successful models or instruments. Development of a suitable transfer strategy to the NACs. Successful implementation of those concepts.
• New support concepts:Development of new support concepts or integration of existing instruments to a global concept. Validation and implementation of those concepts.
