Family of Parishes Advent Penance Celebration: Last Sunday, 8 priests heard confessions for 2 hours as a large number of parishioners from Sacred Heart, St. Joseph and St. Paul Parishes gathered to celebrate Reconciliation! Heartfelt thanks to all who attended. Special thanks to Dave & Alice Beneteau for preparing the delicious meal that was served to the priests who were present.
Christmas Mass Schedule: Parishioners are encouraged to make a special effort to attend either the
7:30pm Mass on Christmas Eve, the 10pm Mass in French or the 11am Mass on Christmas Day. As all of us are aware, the 4:30pm is always overflowing - with a large number of people
assisting in the hall via a screen projection. Please remember to be hospitable to our visitors! Our welcome may be the reason that they continue to participate in the Eucharist.
Liturgical Ministers: Please confirm your attendance with the commentator in the Vesting Sacristy 15 minutes before Mass. If you are unable to attend when scheduled, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. We are depending on you!
Parish Office Hours: The office will close at noon on Christmas Eve and will re-open on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2019 at 8:30am. The phone will be monitored for emergencies.
New Year’s Mass Schedule: The Feast of Mary, the Mother of God is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics living in Canada! There will be a New Year’s Eve Mass at 5pm celebrated in English and a bilingual Mass on New Year’s Day celebrated at 10am.
Pray for the sick, especially Migs Monforton, Emma Meloche, Colleen Rea, Bette Dunn, Ed Primeau, Colleen Dupuis, Jack Swinton, Frank Angileri and Maxine Shelley.
Pray for the deceased, especially Lloyd Shelley, husband of Maxine Shelley and Joseph Hagg, father of Terry (Brett) Robinson-Vermette.
Please note: There are NO confessions during the holidays. Regular confessions resume on Sat., Jan. 5th, 2019.

Reverse Advent Collection: Poverty doesn’t stop at the holidays. The need continues all year round. If you are able, please take a tag or two
from the Reverse Collection basket as it is passed around after the regular collection. Supplies of these everyday items are greatly needed and much appreciated. This is the last weekend for this collection.
Vocation Corner: During Advent, the Church sets aside four weeks before Christmas to long intensely for Jesus’ coming and prepare our hearts for His arrival. The whole “Holiday Season” and all that has come to signify, may indeed be the most wonderful time of the year, but even with the Christmas cookies, the beautiful carols and the family gatherings, Catholics are asked to recognize the fact that we’re not really home yet. Instead, we are longing for Jesus to come back and preparing our hearts for that day. May God bless us all this Advent season!
Christmas Message from the Diocese of London: Bishop Fabbro extends his warmest greetings for the
holidays. To read his Christmas letter, visit the diocesan website at www.dol.ca.
2019 Windsor Bestseller Coupon Books: The new books are now available for purchase in the parish office. Along with the new 2019 coupons, you will also receive the 2018 book which is valid until March 2019 at no additional charge. $40 cash or cheque
payable to St. Joseph Parish.
Looking for other gift ideas? “Images of Faith, Portraits of a People” bilingual mural book and St. Joseph note card packages are available in the parish office. Order forms for Tree of Life stones and leaves are also available in the office.
Volunteers Needed: We are looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen for our annual St. Joseph Feast Day dinner which is to be held here in the parish hall on Friday, March 22nd, 2019. Duties are serving food (buffet style) and kitchen/hall clean up. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the parish office.
St. Joseph Cemetery: If you require information about purchasing a cemetery plot or niche in the crypt, please call Paul Martin at 519-734-8428 to schedule an appointment.
Do you know…? You can obtain a Apostolic Blessing from the Holy Father for occasions such as marriage, major anniversaries, milestone birthdays (75th, 90th, etc.)? The $100.00 cost is for the shipping and processing. They make wonderful gifts once they are framed! If interested, contact the parish office and allow 2-3 months for delivery.
2019 Offertory Envelopes: Please pick up your envelope boxes as soon as possible if you have not done so already. Do not use them until 2019 and discard any remaining 2018 envelopes in the new year as envelope numbers change year to year. If you requested a box of envelopes, they are ready for pick up.
From the Office: Our committee has been hard at work putting together a new parish website with a fresh look and easy to access information. The website address will remain the same. (stjosephrc.dol.ca) Stay tuned….
