FIRE DRILL
When the fire alarm sounds all staff, students and visitors will leave the building by the
designated fire exits, make their way to the rear of the school and assemble on the TENNIS
COURTS to the south east of the main school building.
People exiting through fire doors from the eastern side of the building – from the sports hall,
Community Suite, dining room extension and the eastern end of the rear 3 storey teaching block
will head towards the rear of the school and access the TENNIS COURTS via the footpath between
the teaching block and all-weather pitch. The gate in the fencing between the main building and
the all-weather pitch will be automatically unlocked when the fire alarm sounds to allow free
passage for people exiting from the sports hall and Community Suite.
People exiting from the southern side of the building out of the 3 sets of doors on the rear of
the three storey teaching block will follow the path along the rear of the building to the TENNIS
COURTS.
People exiting from the western side of the building – from the fire doors at the rear of the
Community Suite, the main entrance, the hall, SEN Entrance and the western end of the three
storey teaching block will head towards the rear of the school along the path around the western
end of the main teaching block then along to the TENNIS COURTS. The gate in the external
fencing between the main building and the western boundary of the school site will be
automatically unlocked when the fire alarm sounds to allow free passage.
All staff, students and visitors will assemble on the TENNIS COURTS to the south east and rear of
the main building.

Safety Requirements
In Science and other practical subjects it may be necessary to tie back long hair during practical
work and to wear lab coats or aprons to protect clothing. These will be provided by the school.
DINING
The new school will use a cashless system—this means you use your
finger print to pay for your lunch. Your parent/carer will need to load
money on to your account before you can buy anything. If you have
free school meals an allowance will be added to your account each
day.
Letters were sent home by post earlier this term for parents to sign up
to ParentPay and the new biometric (fingerprint) system. All students
should have returned the permission slip for the biometric system
otherwise you will not be able to access the canteen. You need to
make sure you sign it yourself as well as your parents/carers. If you
haven't brought your letter back yet it is important that you bring it in.
as soon as possible.
Important note. Parents must put money into the school dinners fund
in parent pay. We had quite a few students whose parents had put
money into parent pay but had not put it into school dinners so they
could not have a meal.
