“A Paper’s Turn AtSelf-Improvement”

From Concept To Reality

Page 2: Origami Presentation

Design Concept

• The goal was to transform a 2D thing into a 3D object.

• Synopsis: The piece of paper doesn’t like how it looks, and makes the decision to improve its appearance.

• The animation represents a combination of fine art (origami & photography) and computer design (Final Cut Pro).

Background/Research

I got into origami because it’s an accessible and cheap art form.

No need for special tools or materials. Just your hands and scrap paper.

Storyboards

The flip book helped me learn how to make an image grow from a background and recede into it.

I incorporated it into my animation.

Conclusion

• My fine art skills have successfully come together with digital technology, which is new for me.

• If I could move forward, I would continue trying stop-motion animation with other origami projects, just to see their transformation from paper to sculture.
