MBA in Executive Leadership - Overview

Format

• The MBA in Executive Leadership is offered in an online/hybrid format• Students complete approximately 75% of coursework

at their own pace• Each course meets 1-3 times for an in-person session

with faculty and classmates • Classes meet at the Collaborative Life Sciences

Building in Portland

• Format combines the flexibility of a full-time program with the benefits of regular interactions with faculty and classmates

• Those taking two courses/term can earn their MBA in about 2 years

• Students can start any term • We recommend budgeting 10 hours per week, per

course for self-study and group projects

The Oregon State MBA – Program Components

• MBA Foundation Knowledge • pre-MBA coursework for non-business majors• Accounting/finance, marketing/management, sustainable business

operations, business/legal environment • Students may be able to opt out of some foundation courses if they

have received equivalent on-the-job training.

• MBA Core • Skills and knowledge every OSU MBA graduate must have• Curriculum includes coursework in Financial/Cost Analysis, Business

Law, Finance, Leadership, Business Analysis, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Strategic Management, Information Systems and New Product Development

Admissions Requirements

• GPA• At least a 3.0 from a regionally accredited college or university in the United

States • If under a 3.0, advisors can work with applicants to determine eligibility on a

case by case basis

• GMAT• Minimum 500 overall score• Minimum 20% on verbal, quant, IR and writing sub-scores• We may waive the GMAT if an applicant has already earned a Master’s degree• We will waive the GMAT for anyone who has earned a PhD• GMAT waiver process exists for those with extensive work experience AND

strong academic performance (see next slide)

• TOEFL (international applicants)• 575 on paper based OR• 7.0 on IELTS OR• 91 on internet-based version (iBT) with all sub scores at or above 22

The GMAT Waiver Process

• Requirements:• At least 3.3/4 GPA in business or technical field• At least 5 years of full-time, post-baccalaureate work experience

in a management or leadership capacity• Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills

• Process: • Those meeting eligibility requirements should draft a GMAT

waiver request and email to [email protected] Request should not exceed 500 words

• A member of the admissions team may follow up with any questions

• Admissions committee will review requests weekly

Application Process

• Complete Online Application Form • $60 application fee (credit card)

• Submit Supplemental Materials• One official transcript of academic work from each school attended• Statement of Objective• Three letters of professional reference• Current Resume

• Deadlines (normal)• Complete applications must be received no later than 30 days prior to the

beginning of the admission term.• International – 90 days

• Current tuition rates (2014-15) are $761/credit hour• Program w/o foundation is 45 credit hours• Foundation can add 3-15 credit hours• Does not include fees or textbooks
